This evening I replaced one of my headlight bulbs after BOTH blew on the way home from mass.

This car is possessed by the DEVIL

The other will have to wait as I'm heading to Dublin airport early in the morning

I tried to explain that to my mother but she hit me with the bible and threw some holy water/acid on me

My fecking sticking caliper returned and started smoking the pads earlier, thankfully I was only a few miles away from the mechanics place, who was nice enough to take a look after hours.

No obvious reason as to why it's sticking, so the only obvious rust buildup on the piston was cleaned off as well as can be, so hopefully that's it sorted, or I'm looking at a new caliper.

Put a Lidl MP3/CD thingie into my gf's car, seems to work with an adapter etc. Got a fascia online too but the MP3 unit will only fit in the bottom half of the radio unit so that's no good! Bluetooth mic wire went in nice and neatly for a surprise. The Alfa doesn't need anything at the moment except 30L of petrol. Am planning my selling strategy atm.

Jumped the Corsa, it was dead as a dodo and I might have a buyer. Left it for hour and it wouldn't start again, so I left it to idle for half an hour. I'll check it again tomorrow.

You should be able to shift it..if the batteries ****ed, fly up to summerhill spares (behind halfords / lidl coolock). They will sell you a decent battery for €20 or so..

Got a good bit done this weekend, bought the shadowline trim and replaced all the chrome around the windows. Also installed my angel eyes and gave the headlights a quick refurb.

Also got some carbon fibre centre caps:

  • Subscribers Posts: 6,408 ✭✭✭conzy

Exhaust was 185 euro, it took the best part of two hours and it looks totally stock which I like. Would highly recommend souhans they have done a lot of tasty cars over the years and the service was great, there's even a waiting room to drink tae and eat breakfast rolls!

I liked the old man wood trim Conzy...........I'm probably in the minority but I would have left the car alone as it was and kept it original...........as said I'm probably in the minority.

I'll have to see it again when I'm in better form :)

You most likely have the power wires mixed up

Possibly one yellow and one red.
One goes to permanent power for the memory ( holding stations and settings )
the other goes to ignitiion so as when the key is turned off the headunit goes off as well.

I fitted the new adaptor for my double din unit, and now the steering wheel controls are working again :D
I also connected the parking brake sensor wire so that the screen will now play videos/dvds. I refitted the fascia surround as it wasn't sitting correctly. I broke 2 of the clips off (on purpose!) and it fits much more flush now, and doesn't fall off when I take the face off the stereo either! I also gave the interior a quick hoover, it was in an awful state.

Next weekend, i'll be cleaning the whole car, it's in an awful state. I've never let a car i've owned get as dirty as this!

Spent over 3 hours washing my car today.

Foam wash, followed by microfiber mitt hand wash, second foam wash, hand dry, polish, buff, wax, buff.

Absolutely knackered now, but in positive news I managed to sort out my foam issue and finally got some proper sticky thick stuff! (heh...)
