Yeah, is there even like anyplace worth going to here where you'd even be guaranteed to get any games, regardless of prices

My brother is promising me a videogame, lets see what he brings back. I hope it's FFXIII-2 but it's a bit much to ask for but it will be a surprise either way. I already got Sera's pressie of a Lumpy Space Princess birthday card, a plushie of Salsa the monkey from Mother 3, a cute monkey clip for photos and a space invaders t-shirt :)

My friend Michele made me this for my birthday. If anyone wants a cake decorated she's definitely the one to ask:

That game sounds like it would have been really interesting if it had gone ahead.

Seriously, that long ago? Jesus, I remember being so excited for it and how excruciating the 6 month wait was for it. I was the only person looking forward to the game, everyone had wrote it off and then when it came out the yanks went banana's for it. It came out here the day I finished college in 3rd year. I finished at the end of March because I had to start work placement and had a 3 week gap before I started. Played Metroid Prime for an unhealthy amount in that week. I was going through a bit of disillusionment with how formulaic gaming had become at the moment, in fact it started when I finished Legend of Dragoon, that game will do that to you. Metroid Prime reignited my love for games so I've so many fond memories of it.

I remember where I was living and what television set I was using and that's about it.

I was drinking a lot of absinthe that year.

And who says only Retr0 can find upskirt in a videogame?
Dinorex is the one-handed gamer of the month I say!

I'd rather turn up at HMV on the 2nd of October, 2012, when
There'll be a range of decent game
    It'll be cheaper
There's some software revisions to fix the broke stuff we don't even know about yet!

    And re: Metroid Prime...
THAT was a real WTF moment for me in videogames.
Not a bad one but, above and beyond Halo on the Xbox, it was 1st person nirvana.
A beautiful looking game, organic structure, not just texture mapped boxes for rooms.
It has a world, or rather worlds, with consistent ecosystems, with life teeming through.
It had verticality built right in, before Prince of Persia on the PS2 "defined" the word for people unfortunate not to own the Gamecube.
It had that awesome opener that gave you the power of a god in that suit before whipping it all away.
I still love the bit where the gravity gets turned back on in the opener on the Space Station.
I also reckon it, and it's sequel, was one of the best recipients of the motion controls on the Wii in the Metroid Prime Trilogy, very well done.
Unlike Halo I don't think the game needs new graphics engines to bring it into the current decade, I think it did just fine with the aforementioned control update, it still looks gorgeous.

Well Retro are working on a Wii U title that's apparently "a project everyone wants us to do"

So, I for one, am looking forward to DinoRex on the Wii U.

A year older. No wiser :p

(that said, FFXIII-2 isn't meant to be quite as deplorable as the first one. That red ring that surrounds the player with a radius of around 3 meters must have really wooed the reviewers)

    It's has a metacritic rating of 79.

Which is equivalent to about 25 in the scary, immature realm of games criticism.

    Just finished Resident Evil Revelations.

Enjoyed it a lot. Probably about 10 hours of play in the main game.

Hopefully 6 will be more like this and less like 5.

That was fast, must have blitzed through it. How was 10 hours of using the circle pad attachment?
