Will any of the issues raised by the recent High Court challenge leave the window open for new centerfire pistol applications (i.e. for people who didn't have licences prior to November 2008). I'm guessing no, but hoping someone will have found a loophole.

No.

The case was appealing licenses held before November 2008 that were refused. They do not challenge the Act/SI that limits/restricts the ownership of C/F pistols.

Don't forget that there are a sizable group of people that had applications in progress or judicial review of refusals sought, prior to nov.08, who are also in limbo.They do not have existing certificates like the 168 cases but are, I believe, entitled to be dealt with under old law.
