Mixed-race couples

Thing is there this girl at school that I'm into and she's into me too but to cut a long story short I'm getting the feeling she's reluctant cause I'm black (i dont mean because she's had bad experiences before, just cause of the whole mixed thing) and I understand that, sort of..
We do get a couple stares when were together, which pisses me off cause, I mean what's the big deal here haha.

Basically, lets say you're a parent and your daughter says she's dating a black guy. What would be your first reaction. May be you've been in that situation before.
Also any advice would be appreciated very much

Im a father of a daughter (7 weeks so purely hypothetical:D) and i would not give a fiddlers. in fact i would be delighted about it.....provided the guy was decent. Good luck with it...

If you are able to mind read and understand girls you're a better man then most :cool:

There could be any number of reasons you're seeing reluctance, you've focused on one.
An obvious one but might not be the reason at all

People will stare at you for the clothes you wear or the way you cut your hair. This isn't London where nobody cares

I'd imagine the only reason you get some people staring is because its just not very common here yet.... imagine a white guy walking down the road with a black girl in say... kenya... don't you think everyone would stare ? Much more so than your experiencing. Just have to get used to it until everyone else has.

I have a friend who had a problem like this. His girlfriend had to struggle with the fact he was from the north side. She felt her friends looked down on her for this. Eventually they broke up. They were both white. Best thing my mate ever did was get away from her.
