There's plenty of rumours online that Highrise, Crash, Overgrown and Crossfire are already coded into MW3.

I love Crash, I love Overgrown but that's lazy to the extreme if that is true. Likewise Strike, which is arguably my favourite map in COD history for all gametypes.

I want to see Countdown, District, Broadcast, Backlot, Ambush, Showdown and Pipeline before I see the above, then and only then will I fork over my money (assuming it's not what 15 euro for 2 maps or some ****).

Agreed but it appears to be the case. Bad enough to bring them back for MW2 but to do it again. Presume it's an easy process just to recode / slot an existing map into a new game rather than make one up from scratch. As long as they have eejits like me buying them they'll keep doing it of course.

as much as I love Crash, having it as paid dlc for both MW2 and MW3 is just money grabbing. sure Bakaara looks like its just Crash with extra bits thrown in and the central section expanded. I do want Terminal back though, awesome map for all game types.

They should just release mod tools for PC and let them come up with the new maps ! Then they could take the best ones and charge console users for them.

Bakaara is completely different and comparing the two is doing a disservice to the brilliance that was 'Crash'.

they do look pretty similar though, crashed chopper and all that. Crash is a spawn trappers wet dream map, A and C spawn traps are ridiculously hard to get out of if the other team has you boxed in, got my highest score ever on Crash on was in the 90's with single digit deaths.

its a pity they dont have more fun with the existing maps, like the christmas edition of Crash that was modded on pc, but that would mean giving people stuff for nothing for fun, cant have Activision doing that now...

I remember playing that many moons ago, looked fantastic.

edit - for those who haven't seen it:

It won't be 15 for 2, I think they are gonna release them for sale every 2 months at 1200 MS points or equivalent PS3 money as a way to justify the cost of elite. But that'll be just for the maps I'd hazard a guess they'll bundle the new missions together for sale as a different bundle, but that's just idle speculation.

After playig the stock maps on mw3 I was glad I didnt buy into elite.... after seeing these two maps I am REALLY glad I didnt buy in.

Honestly, who pays up front for products they have never even seen or heard about based on a name alone! Lolz :D

Central park map looks ok, has potential but the Italian map looks like another MW3 typical fare - knife fight in a cluttered wardrobe. So thats 50% of the teaser info that looks bad, if the rest looks terrible I wont buy in.

Dont buy into elite, watch the maps being played on youtube and THEN decide on what to buy. Maybe people will learn for the next COD.

I wouldn't mind seeing District, Broadcast, Backlot or Crossfire. If they make Countdown a DLC map I'll be pissed. I hated that map in CoD4 so damn much.

I think it was more the admission that Central Park/Liberation/Whatever the **** it's called is not a map for run n gunners . Might as well have stamped lolz assassin 4 life on their forehead, a map for very little movement and assassin Type 95 users is what they they catered for. The Italian map, I forget who said it here but will be a cluster**** and it'll be a map where Akimbo FMG's will be dominant. Might as well slap on Scavenger and roll with the FMG's. As with my original comment, aesthetically they look very good but that's the only appeal and it'll be when hell freezes over before I buy them. I think I'd have to wait 3 months if I'm not mistaken too :pac:

Tbh in the back of my mind was the thought that the maps released with the game were purposely meant to be quite frankly dreadful as to make people buy the DLC maps. But I think I'm giving them (IW) too much credit perhaps.

I dont get how MW2 had so many good maps and MW3 has so few. like in MW2 you had Terminal, Afghan, Favela, Highrise, Wasteland, and then Crash and Overgrown in the dlc packs, I'd happily play on nothing but that group of maps, the only maps I'm not crazy about are Rundown and Quarry, and even those are miles better than anything in MW3, there's so many sightlines, choke points, busy areas etc whereas the MW3 ones are just all over the place, its so hard to play tactically when you think enemies are going to be coming from particular places and then soem guy stabs you in the back as he spawned 10 feet away from you when his team is on the other side of the map.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,641 ✭✭✭zero19

Would it be a case of whoever designed those maps in MW2 are no longer with IW?

If the enemy team call in an EMP/CUAV and you subsequently switch to a class with Assassin Pro are you no longer effected by the EMP/CUAV or do you have to be using Assassin Pro before it's called in?

I think it hides you even afer the uav is called in, same as blind eye hides you from choppers even when they've been called.

    From Robert Bowling's Twitter:

#MW3 PSA: The "damage" proficiency exploit is already fixed in the next patch. We're now tracking anyone abusing it and will ban offenders.

So what's he saying, you can't use Damage on Shotguns?

Nah there is a glitch to put any proficiency on any weapon (damage on assault rifles, snipers so you don't get hitmarkers etc) If you see someone using a silenced sniper then its more than likely they are using the glitch.

@OriginalTom its against the forum rules to post glitches I believe

Can someone clarify with regards to the trophy/achievement - Arms Dealer whether or not I have to use all the attachments for all of the guns or just a gun from each class?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,673 ✭✭✭✭senordingdong

You have to buy every gun once, and every attachment once.

IE - you do not need to purchase a red dot sight for every gun.

In spec ops you can buy guns and attachments, Seamus will know the answer to that as I'm sure he has the 1000g for a while now :D
