@ 4-0, Xavi comes off for Tello

Hospitalet keeper having a good game despite the score line. Without him it could easily be 6 for FCB

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,328 ✭✭✭Glico Man

Cuenca having a decent game on the right. Looking very lively and is putting decent crosses into the box. Disappointed by his dive for the peno though

5-0, Tello. Corner for Hospitalet cleared by Thiago to Tello who runs from inside his own half to knock it in. Lovely finish too

Half time. Very professional job tonight considering the round trip the lads have taken. Holding onto the ball, pressing high... typical Barça tbh

6-0, Cuenca. Good run and low cross from Tello converted by Cuenca

Great... now Cesc is down. Knee to knee knock. Up and hobbling but he signals he's ok *phew*

I don't understand why so many big names are playing tonight.

Has Pep ever explained why he continues to play his big players when on paper you would think he doesn't need to?
They have a Christmas break after this so it could explain today anyways. In La Liga points can't be dropped and the only other competition is the CL where he had to guarantee top spot in the group, once he had done that he put out a B team. The players seem used to playing week in week out at this stage, and Pep normally has them firing on all cylinders for the end of the season anyways.

7-0, Thiago penalty after Cuenca taken down.

Busquets subbed for Dos Santos. Biscuits had a good game as always.

But this is the CDL, they could have played their C team and get through this game.

8-0, Tello. Lovely finish, curled into the far corner from just inside the box

They have plenty of time to rest now though.

    9-0, Cuenca. Very nice finish

Be funny if Barca get another penalty to see the fight over who gets to take it!

    Pinto for the lulz.

Can't be arsed reading back through my posts but from memory I think it's Thiago, Cuenca and Tello on for a hat trick

It's more about risking injury than fatigue.

9-0 final score on what must have been the loneliest thread ever :( :pac:

    Goalscorers:
    Pedro
    Iniesta
    Xavi
    2 x Thiago
    2 x Cuenca
    2 x Tello

But late to the thread but Cdl rules require a fielding of at least seven first team regulars. the Barca youth that best bate could easily have handled this game but pep didn't have a choice.

Barcelona are back tonight in the Copa against Osasuna. Kick off at 9pm GMT I think.

Messi & Valdes have the flu. Gives Messi a chance to rest, and Valdes isnt really used at this stage of the cup.

^ Valdes is never used in the cup if Pinto is fit.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,220 ✭✭✭Davaeo09

Valdez doesn't get used in CDR at all, Pinto played in the final last season and in all of the games leading to that.. As far as I can remember!

Hope Thiago get's a run out tonight. I reckon he has much more potential than we have seen in the first half of this season. Of course he's been good, I just believe he can be better.

Osasuna are no push overs though, I hope we don't underestimate them, but hey Pep's the man with the titles..

    In Pep we trust :D

    Looking forward to the match.

Last nights tie between Real Madrid and Malaga was a cracker.
Malaga were playing very well up until the 60th minute when Pellegrini made some poor tactical changes .
Despite being 2-0 up and having stifled Real ,who were struggling to break them down ,Pellegrini decided to keep pushing men forward to get a third goal !
Of course this was a recipe for disaster ,as the game became stretched Real got the space on the break they heavily rely on.
Pellegrini substituted his 3 best players and the guys he put on were useless.
Enjoyable match though but Real were let off the hook.

The more this season progresses the more it becomes apparent we were robbed when Cesc was sold to you.
