    Great news for Ireland!

All we need now is for Xavi, Iniesta, Cassilas, Alonso, Torres all to get the ebola virus and we're sorted.

Last thing Villa needed. Prob out for a few months around 3 is my guess depending on the fracture. Least its not broken but a bad injury. Poor guy.

The final should be a cracker of a match. Roll up the best club side in the World.

Yup, I felt bad for thinking it, but it's true. Torres isn't exactly on form either, but i'm really clutching at straws to think we could get a result.

    Maybe, just maybe :pac:

How long is the recovery time from a broken tibia? The Euros are still six months away.

    Radio there says 4-5 months.

Also, Spain have been playing a system with no real striker recently. Look how Cesc has played as false 9 for Barça. It's obviously a loss for Spain but not the end of the world.

Guardiola saw this coming, I remember before the match against Hospitalet that he mentioned Villa he was having some issues with his tibia but that he kept playing because he was very a determined person, but that it was very painful for him.

This would be the reason why he hasnt been playing so often lately... specially the game against Real Madrid

    Don't forget Silva! ;)

Looked to be broken when I saw the replay in game and how they put him on the stretcher was like holding two halves of a baguette in place. Couldn't understand the commentator talking about his ankle.

Not good news at all, between 4 and 6 months is what I'm hearing, gone for the rest of the season anyway. I can't see Pep signing anyone in January still, some of the youngsters really proved themselves in the BATE game so hopefully they will be trusted in some league games now too.

I have'nt posted in a while, been pretty busy. Anyway, I just logged in to post the vid below of Messi' second goal against Santos, in particular the touch to get around the keeper. When I seen it first I though it was a brilliant touch but in the below clip at about 40 seconds in there is a slow motion shot from behind the goal  To be moving that fast and he did'nt just touch it past the keeper he put a small bit of pressure on the ball to make it pop up off the ground and if he did'nt do that you can see the keepers foot would of cleared the ball. It's an unbelievable bit of skill to think he is moving that quickly and he is able to anticipate and process that the keepers foot might make contact so he puts a little bit of pressure on the top of the ball and skips past the kepper and taps the ball into the net. If he did'nt pop the ball up the keeper would of saved it.

Barca playing Hospitalet tonight in the 2nd leg of the fourth round of the Copa del Ray. Will be interesting to see what sort of team Pep plays following the Club World Cup and this being their last game before the Christmas break. They only hold a 1 goal advantage but even a 2nd string should handle Hospitalet handy enough.

FCB's staring lineup: Pinto, Puyol, Piqué, Fontàs, Sergio Busquets, Xavi, Thiago, Iniesta, Pedro, Cesc and Cuenca

Bench: Valdés, Muniesa, Tello, Sergi Roberto and Dos Santos

    Decent team :pac:

Barça 1-0 up from a Pedro penalty. Cuenca with a shocking dive to win it. Harsh on Hospitalet

2-0 now... Iniesta tap/blast in. Good run from Cesc who squares for Iniesta who blasts it in from 4 yards

I don't understand why so many big names are playing tonight.

Has Pep ever explained why he continues to play his big players when on paper you would think he doesn't need to?

3-0... Thiago. Defender tries to take it out of defence, gets caught in possession by Thiago who holds his composure before thumping it in

Iniesta being subbed off after a collision with the keeper. Replay showing the physio making a hamstring area motion with his hand... Hope its just a precaution :/

Sergi Roberto on in his place

I don't know tbh. He played a second string side against Bate in the last CL game so its an odd one. Suppose it could be the mindset of, you can become World Club Champions one day but can lose out on perhaps another trophy another day to a Second Division B side.

Great save on the line from the Hospitalet keeper from Roberto's shot. Still 3-0

4-0 Sweet as you like. Lovely goal from Xavi, from a glorious pass from Cesc. Cesc dinks it over the defence for Xavi to knock it via the post
