For my birthday I want one of those lovely Taito G-Net boards with the bios thingy done....
I will have to float it out there so the family get the message....
Although, is one of the jamma compatible Mame on a board deals any good?
I hear they are none too reliable at times.

The G-Net system is great, think of all that lovely Darius goodness that will await you!good excuse to play some vertical shooting games too. Shikigami No Shiro is on it too, amongst many others. :)

    Avoid, avoid, avoid.
I made the mistake of getting one, just to see how it was.

    Which episode were you watching?

I've let myself get all bogged down in Sega Mega Drive Sound Comparisons.

"The Model 1 is so much better,"
"No the model 1 with the High Definition logo only is better than the model 2" "The Model 2 is better than any model!"

There's a very in-depth post here that tries to break them down by motherboard revision:

    http://chipmusic.org/forums/topic/2196/detailed-review-of-genesis-md-audio-across-hardware-revisions/

There's 7 board revisions for each model, so that's 14 in total!

Even after reading that I've no real conclusion to draw on!

Just probably going to buy a model 1 and hope that its one of the clearer sounding ones, with nice bass at the same time! :P

Boo... I was really enjoying Blackwell Legacy, but it seems to be horribly bugged.

Unless you're following a walk through every step of the way (which seems to be what the playtesters did) it's super easy to wander into a complete dead end that prevents you from progressing any further in the game.

Could be a design choice if they were trying to emulate the Sierra style of point and click games? They were ruthless for dead ends.

No. It's definitely a bug. It's one character and their dialogue tree keeps being reduced to just allowing you to say goodbye... but you have to be able to ask them about certain things to get specific objects or trigger certain events.

First time around I got stuck and couldn't get the object so I restarted and got the object, but wasn't able to then talk about the subject that would trigger the event where the ghost first appears to you.

Seems to be a new issue with the version just released as the trilogy pack, so hopefully it will get patched soon.

The Vita's built in PSP emulator exploited, expect it removed at Sony's earliest convenience :) (only a rumour for now)

Ahh man, whoever cracked this should have kept it under wraps until the vita was released properly.

I don't think it'd matter tbh. Sony's business model over recent years has been to release a top grade product, & then slowly make it worse over its lifespan. Exploiting this will likely only have it removed faster than it would have been anyway. Regardless, it's just rumour for now.

Lol @ ciderman trolling the last of us thread in the games forum. Badmouthing Sony in there, hope you had asbestos boxers on man

I'm getting annoyed with the dumbasses reporting the post as well. Obvious troll is obvious. Apparently it insults 'playstation gamers' as if they are some sort of ethnic minority.

Here's a contender for weirdest crossover ever. It's a cross between Koei's hardcore historical strategy game nobungas ambition and pokemon:

It's only user mode so you can only emulate psp homebrew. I don't think it can lead to any vita hacks.

    Damn, no sturmwind for Xmas.
I just got the email :(
Sadly the production of Sturmwind has seen some complications. We a very sorry we have to bring you this news. Nevertheless we would like to thank everyone who is interested in Sturmwind for their continuous faith in this ambitious Indie project.
You keep this project going. Diese Meldung ist auch in Deutsch verfügbar (siehe unten). (English) Production complications: Sturmwind is about to be delayed In spite of best planing, the release of Sturmwind has to be postponed: Our long-term CD-ROM manufacturer surprisingly had to declare bankruptcy after 19 years in business. From 40 employees only a few remained. Therefore this resulted in the situation that the scheduled delivery date for Sturmwind could not be met in the end.
The only possibility has been to relocate the production - to avoid further delays of the bankrupt facility. Nevertheless items like the spaceship models have been completely manufactured already. Our new partner is one of the largest videogame CD / DVD press plants in Europe with over 50 years of experience in medium production. In the meanwhile we already placed our production order for Sturmwind.
The release date is set to TBA ("to be announced") consequently. Details are currently clarified between redspotgames, Duranik and the new facility. Also we are arranging material for another announcement with more exact information within December, which will be after Christmas however. All orders in the redspotgames online shop will remain valid.

I'm not for gassing ethnic minorities or genocide - but the moment 'playstation gamers' are considered an ethnic group whom can take offense en mass is the day I'll be breaking out the oul Zyklon B.
