The new owners appear to be rolling in it so maybe we can take the hit on Carroll. How much do people think Carroll would fetch if we flogged him in the summer?

the thing is theres very few teams interested in him who actually have the money to buy him,
man utd, chelsea, arsenal, spurs, man city wouldnt touch him
the bottom teams in the premiership dont have the moneyto buy him
its a midtable team, which is his level, like aston villa, stoke, fulham, newcastle who could afford him, you would be lucky to get 10million for him now

    What ?

Did you ever see Ian Rush play ?
I actually wondered if that was a United fan just taking the p!ss winding us up. If Carroll is the next Ian Rush then Spearing is the next Zinedine Zidane.

Maybe if he scores a few goals against Chelsea at Anfield Roman might get out the cheque book again
A good World Cup and 'Arry Redknapp might come in for him.
Imo we'll see him back at Newcastle in January never mind the Summer. I'd say we'll get 20m for him. Big loss but imo Kenny has already made his mind up on him. After we sell him back he'll start banging in the goals again for Newcastle it's just the way of things.
I'm not sure if Kenny's thinking along those lines. Similar situation to the Keane affair in that he didn't fit into the system. But in that case Rafa totally cold-shouldered Keane, whereas Kenny seems to be quite fond of Carroll.

Ya never no with ye being our feeder club and all;)

Are you proud of giving us something like 65m+ for three players who've done next to nothing for you ?

Seems a bit stupid if you ask me.

Ahh now come on some of the talk about Carroll on here is ridiculous .
Now im not his biggest fan but jeez ..

    • He aint going anywhere
    • He is with is less than a year
    • He was bought more as a project than a player
    • No one would pay near £15 never mind £30 million
I wouldn't be majorly upset if he was sold but to be written off like he is on here this eve is madness

Doesn't the "Bigger Club" have to beat the "Feeder Club"?

You are just our Elephant graveyard, where we send players who dont have the bottle to be at Liverpool anymore.

Benayoun, Meireles, Torres... Some purchases :/

Benayoun wasn't a bad player, he wasn't given a chance IMO and he suffered that Achilles injury, ye would have Meireles back in a heart beat, he is better than the likes of Spearing, Henderson etc...Il give you the Torres one, thing is we can afford to take the hit if he fails.

Elephant graveyard? Joe Cole and Glen Johnson spring to mind;)

Yes of course... did you read what I wrote? "He could turn into that style of player" ... not he is that type of player.
    I meant poacher

So do you think Liverpool could get a refund from Chelsea on the transfer fee for Joe Cole and Glen Johnson.

And of course it's the same Glen Johnson Chelsea tried to buy again when Liverpool bought him

Wouldn't be so sure on the first point, yous need somebody to put the ball in the net and it's not happening with him.

KD would be mad not to be thinking about bringing someone in this January which would push him further down the pecking order.

Selling Carroll would be taking a big hit financially but at the moment a goal scorer is probably all thats standing in your way of champions league money.

    On your 3rd point,I don't get it.
A project would be a 15/16 year old kid nobody has heard of not a 22 year old with premiership experience.

Feel free to rub my nose in it when Carroll turns into a pacy, instinctive finisher and all round club legend

I think it's fair to say he's staying put. The question is, though, would the owners be prepared to spend big money on another new striker while Andy Carroll is still at the club. And how would it help Carroll (other than taking the spotlight off him)? A new striker would only mean even less chances for Carroll to play.

Id say the owners might take some convincing to part with a large sum to buy a striker. They have an asset they feel is worth 35m. The depreciation on that will be savage at the moment

Why would Newcastle take him back? He's a local lad and all that but they have Ba now who has been a big success for them, I doubt they'd want to unsettle him.

Don't usually have any time for Warnock but he is talking complete sense here. You know if the FA don't get a handle on the Xenophobic side of English football and that includes the press then you will eventually see the top players turn their backs on the premiership.

I wouldn't blame the owners for not giving Kenny the funds for another big signing. 3 out of 4 have failed to impress thus far.

My hatred of him has seriously dwindled since he became a pundit. Neville talks quite a lot of sense. It's a tad disappointing because I really enjoyed hating him.

Adam has impressed recently and Henderson is also showing more promise through the centre than on the right. Carroll is the only worry.

I'm sure if there was a chelsea thread back when drogba first hit england there would have been thousands of posts very similar to the ones being posted now about andy carroll. Give the lad a chance to try get up to speed with the type of game we try to play and for him and the team to learn how to best make use of his attributes. These things take time sometimes so patience is required.

In the meantime just relax safe in the knowledge that regardless of what happens with Carroll he was 100% worth the 35mill as if we had never bought this wonderful video would never have been created. :)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WT-pNYPYE4g&feature=player_embedded

    Keep it up.

Your nonsense about Lucas (up until even a few weeks ago) worked a charm :)

    ...
Kenny Dalglish has reiterated his unwavering belief that Liverpool's strikeforce are on the verge of a goal-fest.

The Reds once again created a raft of chances at the weekend but found QPR stopper Radek Cerny in inspired form during the 1-0 victory over Neil Warnock's men.

Dalglish was delighted with the overall performance of his charges and is confident they are still moving in the right direction.

"We did miss some chances, yes, but the goalkeeper saved a lot of them too," said Dalglish.
"Do I feel the need to go out and do something about that? Aye, whichever side comes along here next, we'll ask them to come without a 'keeper. That's the best way to do it, isn't it?

"Irrespective of what I say, it's not going to stop speculation we are going out in January to sign Joe Bloggs up front, or whoever. I don't need to say anything.

"For us it was a fantastic team performance. We are quite happy.
"I trust the players implicitly when it comes to scoring, implicitly.
"They continued to get in there on goal, and even with the 'keeper having a good day, they didn't drop their heads. They must be enjoying what they are doing, to continue playing like that, and creating chances like that.

"One day, creating chances like that, we are going to get a load...or we are going to be garbage, and win 1-0. And I think that will do us."

He added: "I think some of the football we played in the first half was brilliant, and we won't change our beliefs or the way we play.

"That's why we brought the players here in the first place, and we will stick to those principles.
"Our performance was fantastic, and the only thing missing was the goals that confirm that.

"If you look at home performances they have been fantastic, look at points...maybe not. There is not a game we have played here that we couldn't have won, we shouldn't have won.

"The goalkeepers that have come here have done very well for their sides...I'm saying that again. Performance wise, we don't have any problem whatsoever, goals - yeah, we'd love more, and we'll get more."

So because he scored 5 goals in 37 appearances 5 years ago when he was 19 we shouldn't spend money on him now despite him having scored 60 goals in 115 appearances since then?

He was 20.5 to 21.5. He was twice as sh1te as Carroll that season, they probably should have had a knee jerk reaction and sold him for a song.
