Lads what is the full purpose of the Clan? Are you gonna be entering Tournaments or what? Because the way i'm seeing it is certain members only want to play with certain people which in my opinion is a load of ****e. Why start a Clan if you only wanna play with the same people, pointless much?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,649 ✭✭✭Not The Real Scarecrow

Its not that people only want to play with certain people, its that only certain people are online the majority of the time and only certain people actually play in a party. Alot of the time as well (like last night) the party is full. If there's a full party the best thing to do is send a couple of invites to others that are online and not already in a party.I've done this a few times and usually get a few people to play with. I have noticed though that there are a few in the clan that either don't play at all or if online don't play with other clan members.
I honestly can't say anything bad in regards of people only playing with the usual people as up to a few weeks ago I never played with any one from the clan and have found them all to be sound and very accepting. I'm not the best player and don't talk too much on the mic( being honest, fairly new to using the mic so feel abit awkward and forget to use it at times but think I'm getting better, also getting proper set of headphones other than the xbox ones as half the time can barely hear what others are saying). But despite this I have found the other clan members very accepting and not elitist or what ever it is you might think is going on with them.
So my advice is start sending out invites and I'm sure you'll end up in a party soon enough.

I completely disagree with the bolded part.

Why even have a friends list if you don't want to play with the same people? I can say with full honesty that I wouldn't have put in the amount of hours playing COD that I have if I hadn't posted my gamertag and talked shíte with other people in the about last night threads. It adds so much to the game playing in a group versus solo online play, so much so that they're completely different games. People are more inclined to play with their friends from RL, or with guys from the shared gamertags thread and "about last night", what's wrong with that? Both those threads have been around for a far longer time and to me, they supersede the clan.

Personally for me it's only use is for double XP and it serves as an alternative friends list. There's precious little point in IW or sledgehammer diverting resources on clan orientated things like elite when there is so much more important things need doing.

I understand where you're coming from, I have most of you on my friends list etc, but how many of you will actually invite me to a game? There is certain people who pull strings in who plays and who doesn't, whether you like to admit it or not. Out of about 15 or so that plays maybe i'll get an invite off two or three every so often.

To be completely honest, just join the feckin' party yourself! :) I never ask or wait, I'll see who's on and join if there is space, send a message or start me own if there isn't.

Seriously... String pullers? :p I think you're reading a bit too much into who's in parties man :) Just join! I usually invite whoever is on at the time when I'm party leader... No grand scheme of who to invite.

Dude I feel the same about joining parties unannounced. Especially when you are not familiar with some of the tags and it might just be one out of the clan playing with other mates. I have joined into games a couple of times without joining the party's and waited for an invite. When the game ended then people just moved to another game. I have played a few games with lads from boards at this stage and have found them sound.

I am not that good a player either (getting better) so I know how you feel. I will just join the parties myself in future when I see people on ;)

I'm basically the same, not the best but not the worst player. Going forward will we (if there is room) just join a party rather than waiting on an invite?

sounds good to me im always a little nervous about jumping into parties or games. i suppose the best bet is to lock the party if you dont want people joining

Ya's have to understand that we all started out shīt so there's nothing to complain about there. Some people still are crap :pac: Look at me for example, awful K/D but a good W/L only cause I mainly play in a party.

Whenever I knock on the Xbox I open my friends list and join the first person I see in party chat then ask whoever is there to throw an invite my way when there's space.

On that note, if the party is locked, just ask for an invite but to be honest its only ever locked when Ghandi is on as he has people on his friend list who he doesn't want to talk to/play with. Why he doesn't just delete them I'll never know.

Since elite made it so easy to view your progrss through the game and for instance your K/D and W/L, i've been obbsessed with getting my K/D above 1. Currently at 0.97 i think and it kills me every time i see it :pac:

I used to be real obsessed with kdr but not so much anymore. Can't seem to get over 1 either. Was 8 kills away on Friday when the alcohol overcame me. Had some stellar scores then 6-25 in kill confirmed, 9-26 in Domination and so on. Don't even remember them just saw them in the theatre the next day and was like wtf? Think I was .998 and ended up back at .955

Unlocking challenges with the handguns / riot shields and playing objectives really doesn't help.:)

I can categorically state that my k/d ratio never bothered me in the least..

    I'd rather go 6 + 24 and win the game than 24 + 6 and lose...

Elect a clown... Expect a circus
