Looking for help on finding out the thread size on a CZ 550 .243, The gun was got second hand but not sure if it was factory threaded or not. There is 8 threads on it, and from the top of the top thread to the bottom of the bottom thread is .5 of an inch. thanks.

Looking for help on finding out the thread size on a CZ 550 .243,

The gun was got second hand but not sure if it was factory threaded or not.
There is 8 threads on it, and from the top of the top thread to the bottom of the bottom thread is .5 of an inch.

half an inch? and to the barrel from the last thread then theres about 3mm, I dont know what 3mm is in inches,

Ah i see i which you were asking about. Il have to get him to check later on and find out. I i measured the length before leaving his house instead of the Thickness like you measured in the first post. Il check that out next time, thanks for the help.

I reckon 1/2" UNF for a standard profile barrel.

If it is the same as above and was threaded after market.
Just get a thread feeler gauge out of the College Eng workshop.

Your standard 1/2" UNF has 20 threads per inch. Depends, as you said, if it was factory or after market.

Have a look down this chart. Gives all thread sizes, and dimensions. Yours seems to be 1/2" UNC going by thread count, etc.

Measure and remeasure the thread count, length then compare to the chart.
