Are you in a broadband enabled area? This is needed for it to work.

I'm in broadband enabled area (but I'm not subscribed) I'll try again in the morning and give 1908 a buzz if it fails again..

Possible a reverse path filter on the drop would be my guess if it is a two way network.

I couldn't get it to work.

I tried the 15 min standby and everything in between to a factory reset.

Called UPC and they told me that I need to have the box in standby for it to work. Put box in standby and had a shower, came back out and still not recording. This was all done on my HTC Desire.

Just logged into the "Remote record" website on a PC and had some pop up windows to click through. The TV guide on the site is showing it as recording,

Tried to set a new recording on my phone and it's accepted it

Hopefully it'll have worked but won't know till I get home.

    Edit.

    Both programmes recorded :-)

Is anyone able to make the iTunes app available external to iTunes? I wanna look at making something similar for android and I wanna see if their API is open.

Is the Itunes app available? I was looking for it yesterday but couldn't find it. Any link?

When I called UPC they mentioned that the iPhone app wasn't working yet.

I assume they will be launching an android app shortly, but this is UPC so not sure.

does a factory rest delete all of your recordings ?

does a factory rest delete all of your recordings ?

No I've done this plenty of times and all my recordings were still intact.

It does delete your schedule, I keep forgetting when I factory reset and end up missing stuff.

Just set a recording now. Series link doesn't seem to be an option though.

Had an engineer out today because the original install was fúcked up (problem with the splitter) Remote record wasn't working prior to that.

Now I can record from the m.tv-guide page on my iPhone but when I access my set top box info from the settings page I initially get a connection error which goes away after I refresh the page.

The times on that site seem to be an hour out (certainly on BBC1 anyway)

The iPhone App has the correct times, doesn't work so well on 3G (in Swords area) but works fine once I've connected to wifi.

Set a few channels in 'My Favourites' on the iPhone app but when I went back in this evening they were all jumbled and I had to rearrange them!

Curious thing is that I entered them pretty much in the same order that they are listed on the UPC guide i.e. RTE1/2/TV3/TG4/BBC1 etc. but this evening they were all mixed up with BBC3 at the top of the list .

Mine's not working anyway.. I just get a timed out message from the app and the ones I set up online don't record or theres no mention of them anyway on my TV.

Seems decent, shame they didn't make it into a remote control also

I remember about 4 months ago asking on upcs website (one of those contact forms) about the possibility of a sky-like remote recording feature for the iphone. Few days later i got a call from a very nice guy to say it wasnt in their plans to develop anything like it, 'on demand' tv shows like sky anytime was where their priorities were! He then tried to sell me a phoneline! :D
Just hope its reliable!! (the app that is,the phoneline was declined! :D)

Well done UPC,hardly any chance they'll go the same route as sky & let you watch certain channels live & on the go?

"ERROR. The operation timed out waiting on a response from the server" Full 3G signal area so thats not the issue.
