I'm getting the errors also, using wifi. I only managed to log in today, after continual te outs. It's sees my boxes on my account anyway, but can't connect to them :(

I was getting the error the first time I logged in, tried again 10 mins later and its working :)
Does exactly what it says on the tin :)

Had an engineer out today because the original install was fúcked up (problem with the splitter) Remote record wasn't working prior to that.

Now I can record from the m.tv-guide page on my iPhone but when I access my set top box info from the settings page I initially get a connection error which goes away after I refresh the page.

The times on that site seem to be an hour out (certainly on BBC1 anyway)

The iPhone App has the correct times, doesn't work so well on 3G (in Swords area) but works fine once I've connected to wifi.
Having an engineer out Saturday morning, to be honest I thought it was a case of being fobbed off by the UPC support but if it fixes your issue hopefully will fix my remote record problem

Crashed on the first attempt to log in but is working perfectly now. Few additions to be made to it & it'll be perfect (ish)

Got a twitter message from UPC trying to "Fix" my issue, they said to delete the app and reinsatll knowing full well it was gone from the app store. Was handy for checking what was on. I had muy suspicions that the UPC Customer care fobbed me off with an Engineer call out. I suspect the same with their Twitter account

You should be able to reinstall by going to your app store, updates, purchased. Even if something is removed from the store it should be available there

Possible a reverse path filter on the drop would be my guess if it is a two way network.

Interesting............Is there any test i could run to prove this? if i cant bypass the tap is it resovlable?

    message from UPC
We are experiencing an issue with
the remote record app and have temporarily
removed access to it while some critical work
    is being carried out.

Do you have broadband from UPC, if so connect a modem to same outlet were the set top box is, if the modem connects your can rule out it being a reverse path issue. It doesn't have to be a filter(mainly only used in Tallaght) an internal amplifier could also cause the problem. If that doesn't fix your problem you will probably need to get UPC out.

None of the reminders or records I have set up via https://tv-guide.upc.ie/TV/ have worked for me.

Are they still working on it or should I contact them? I have tried it when UPC DVR has been in stand-by mode and also left on.

Had two engineers call today, knew straight away they werent arsed. One told me I needed a Macbook to use Remote record (which is bull****) secondly one of the technicians said he didnt even know this was rolled out yet, the other guy said oh it is but the signal is blocked to my hd box due to the setup of the connection in the basment of the apartments. The excuse was some sort of lock on it to prevent unauthorised access. Didnt have a clue what point he was trying to make. Anyway they said Networks are in Monday and they have the key so they couldnt access this.

I called up UPC to see what is to be done next and low and behold the call was closed and said the problem resolved. Unbelievable, I wait around 4 hours on a Saturday to get these two idiots talking rubbish then closing off the call as if its done.

Record wouldn't work for me by phone or laptop.

Called UPC and engineer was sent to check it out.

He replaced the cable outlet box on the wall and told me the internal signal booster I was using was most likely the problem.

Disconnected the booster and now the record is working perfectly.

All programmes on the UPC tv guide are out by an hour but it still records at the correct times.

A UPC technician called around today to look into the remote record app. I firstly got a bit concerned when he asked me what he was supposed to be fixing!!

My concern proved to be well-founded when he told me he didn't know anything about the app, and proceeded to call 3 or 4 different people from UPC to ask them how to solve the problem - and guess what: no one had a bull's notion what to do!!

He claims UPC launched this app without briefing staff, or properly publisizing it...

All in all, UPC appear to be the greatest shower of amateurs I have ever stumbled across!

The channels list is totally blank on my iTouch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 381 ✭✭zaphodbeeb

Channel list on my Android phone just says "Not Available". Logged on via laptop and get exactly the same thing.

Seems to be broken at the minute...

Looks fine now on iOS though some channels are listed twice, with and without a logo e.g. UTV.

And City Channel is on 100 and for some reason Sky Arts 2 is on 142 according to the Online TV Guide

The channel is not appearing on my box though

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 644 ✭✭✭Eamo71

not familiar with Blackberrys but if you go to https://tv-guide.upc.ie/TV/ on the browser and log on you can do it via the UPC website
