    Don't be silly!!!

    How do you know this?

Facts or even well argued opinions tend to help. I know this is the SF though.

Thias never crossed my mind. I would love to hear Dalglish's version of this.

It is a crucial point that I have been meaning to raise for quite some time. Something doesn't add up there at all.

Either bizarrely Suarez kept the fact he said negrito from them initially (which would make no sense or make the situation look even more dodgy for him), or they have attacked Evra publically for no good reason, in the full knowledge that the attack was completely unjustified.

But LFC did comment, they said Evra should be punished if Suarezas found guilty. If they were aware from the start that "all" Suarez had said was negrito, then why make such a statement? Why would they want Evra punished for taking offence at what he would have seen as a racial slur, even if the intent was entirely innocent?

It is possible as you say that Suarez apologised, but if he had and it was genuinely a misunderstanding then it would surely have been far more in LFC's interest to be trying to re-iterate that sentiment instead of going totally the opposite direction and attacking Evra.

I thought the Liverpool/Kenny thing was cleared up ages ago?

Or maybe Suarez told the truth all along!! It's not happening. He can't be done for this!!

You do understand the fact that the FA charged him means that he has a case to answer and there is evidence against him?

    You're joking me?

I'm as open minded here as anyone and still believe it was a misunderstanding, but surely he knows it can be offensive?

It was away back in this thread and I'm not searching back! :D

Somebody made a claim about Kenny and retracted it after the article was linked.

Have Liverpool ever brought through a black player from their academy?

I wasn't referring to anything Kenny said.

Go where? A friend asked earlier when this whole Suarez thing came up and I couldnt think off one off hand that has played regularly.

I'm not a Liverpool fan though so I wouldnt know, thats why I want their comment!?

Obviously they have had lots of black players, but he said the academy and couldnt think of any.

Why does it matter what colour player has come through their academy?

I do indeed.I believe they charged him on the 'negerito' word, but they can't prove racism. If they do, they'll be in court! They know that. Charges will be dropped!!

I don't think they did in the recent statement.

New information and all that Flah. Your link is a bit outdated and superfluous now Flah.

I suppose when questions about racism are put to a club, people will look at their record in the academy, is it inclusive etc?

There must be at least one.

Is it though? Surely if Suarez did indeed say negrito then they would have known that at the time?

The use of the word negrito may indeed be new information to us, but surely its something LFC would have been aware of from the start?

I've never heard the ito on the end of that word before, does it mean the same as the other word?

I really can't see the link between what Luis Suarez says on the pitch and the skin colour of LFC's youth players. Whatever road your "friend" was going down with that line of reasoning he really shouldn't bother because its fairly idiotic.

It's still quite startling Liverpool havent brought through any black players from their academy.

Maybe they should concentrate on that and forget appealing the fine/ban on Suarez. It's multicultural there these days they should have at least a few lads coming through imo.

Really? Are you a legal expert all of a sudden?

It took them four weeks to bring about the charge so you can bet your ass they have all the possible legal avenues covered.

Maybe the evidence they have won't be enough to find him guilty, we'll have to wait and see.

Yes and the other point is the one you raised earlier.

Did Liverpool FC know that Suarez called Evra a nergrito(allegedly, although as you say it seems very credible now) before they made a statement that included their wish to see Evra banned if Suarez was found not guilty?

It would be pretty bad form if they did.

Aside from the nastiness between Evra and Suarez, what this whole situation has revealed is that there still exists something of a blase attitude towards racism amongst some at the top of the game. You only have to look at the moronic comments from Poyet and Blatter in the last few days to see that the fight against racism has a long way to go yet.

Well either LFC knew at that stage, or Suarez kept what he had said to himself until a later date, which would be extremely odd and dare I say it look extremely suspicious.

    I never mentiuoned Kenny.

There are no direct quotes granted but the Guardian and the Independent both ran with the headline.
