    Ok, heres a situation.

Ashley Young and Rio Ferdidnad are talking before my match, one of them calls the other "my nigga"

Following your logic its perfectly fine for anyone, lets say for arguments sake, Jamie Carragher to walk up and say "Good morning ****"

I know it's a serious subject, but I lol'd at imagining Carra doing that :pac:

Is that official though that he said Negro or just journo talk.

because its just casually used. I dont really understand why there has to be a correlation to race as we all know whats being debated.

ie. mate is said and noone is offended, hence the plausibility of Suarez calling him what 'his team mates call him'.

i understand there is bias everywhere in this, but im just saying my piece.

He allegedly called him little negro, not little friend, you must have missed that part.

If he called him little friend, then the comparison to an Australian calling someone mate would be valid.

But he didn't, he called him little negro, which is more closely related to the term "Sup Nigga", you following?

Eh, no Mr Alan. Included means contained within, not in addition.

That's the way I initially read it too.

The BBC and every other media outlet I've read are all saying he's been charged with racist abuse and say nothing about personal abuse being a separate charge.

Right so why didn't he just say amigo and save all the confusion??
Why use a word that could be taken as a racial insult??

Yeah, I really dont understand where the confusion is coming from, it seems obvious to me that he was charged with abusing Evra with racist terms.

Ah sure we might as well get our fun out of it, remember that Chelsea and FA conspiracy last year against United? :D

The personal abuse charge is stupid though especially if that's the only charge that sticks.

How do people read the text below and claim there are 2 seperate charges. Baffling
The FA has today charged Liverpool’s Luis Suarez following an incident that occurred during the Liverpool versus Manchester United fixture at Anfield on 15 October 2011.

It is alleged that Suarez used abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour towards Manchester United’s Patrice Evra contrary to FA rules.

It is further alleged that this included a reference to the ethnic origin and/or colour and/or race of Patrice Evra.

The FA will issue no further comment at this time.

I'd give it time at least. The Suarez/Evra incident occured what, 2 weeks, before the Terry/Ferdinand stuff?

Maybe the FA have that case on the racism backlog.

Sh*t just got real for Mister Suarez and his increasingly less vociferous suporters.

No the FA have stated that they will not comment on the Terry case until the Police investigation is complete

But it's not accepted between people who are not acquaintances.

    That's the whole point.

If 'negrito' was the word used, then the absolute best case scenario for Suarez is that he was not racially abusive, but merely culturally ignorant.

If that is the case in Uruguay then yes. Do you know it is? I'm not up on Uruguayan culture. Not being smart, just saying only really somebody familiar with the word and its context can say that.

And even that is being generous, because he has lived in northern Europe for 5 years and in England for 9 months and he is hardly stupid enough to have not picked up cultural taboos in that time.

If it wasn't 'negrito' that was said, then fair enough, disregard the above.

Negrito seems to be the word. I haven't heard nigg*r as the word anywhere in the press.

As for him being more aware, maybe. Whether it's enough to get a conviction is another thing because the FA will have to take him at his word.

Maybe Liverpools black players can clarify if Suarez calls them negrito generally. I presume he does if thats his culture. Would be odd if this was a standalone use of the term.

The continued wriggling over technicalities from the usual suspects is pathetic and hilarious in equal measure. The state of some people in this thread right from the very start.

It's impossible to tell how many charges there are from that statement. The persistent use of "and/or" suggests to me that they haven't a clue what to charge him with so they are trying to cast their net as widely as they can in the hope that they'll find something to pin him with.

And wtf are they on about when they say "behaviour" ? Surely if it was behaviour, it would have been visible (as opposed to the spoken word) and dealt with by the referee and included in his report ?

Very strange statement by the FA and good lawyers should be all over this.
