Yeah it's strange about the nationality thing, seeing as there are plenty of good-looking Irish women - I know many personally.

    Pics or GTFO. :pac: :P

They're hardly ugly just because you don't fancy them. And what gender is your brain Alan? ;)
Yeah it's strange about the nationality thing, seeing as there are plenty of good-looking Irish women - I know many personally, unless they're lying and not really Irish. :pac:

Fair enough about O'Leary's business acumen, but some think he's an extremely unpleasant character - just their opinion.

I dont fancy them because they are dog ugly, its not that im fussy but when i seen the pics initially i went.....nice :) but on closer inspection "fur coat no knickers" comes to mind. If they had clothes on you would pass them in the street without notice, hardly pin up material but its amazing what a bit of flesh triggers in a male brain...... and in case ur unsure my brain is 100% male.

As for OLeary, hes some character and some businessman FACT. He has single handedly changed european aviation, for better or worse is debatable but show me a more successful home grown businessman on the world stage and how many CEO's of a PLC would actually get away with his antics... he is most definately a LEG END

Have you had any bad experiences with them?

I'm not saying that people haven't, just that the only complaints I've heard from people I know are when they had to pay extra for their own mistakes like having excess baggage or not checking in online.

If you follow the rules, which are pretty well-known by now, you won't have any problems with them, from my experience (again, I'm open to correction).

Yep lots, too many in fact much more so than any other airline and im not just talking about paying outrageous fees for forgetting to print off a boarding pass (although that in itself is criminal) one particular time a few years ago flying Dub > LGW on the 8am flight it was delayed but no other information given, every other hour it was announced delayed again and we couldn't get a straight answer out of the staff who seemed disinterested and didn't want to be there, eventually at 4pm that afternoon they said due to a "technical fault" the flight was delayed, it took them 8 hours to tell passengers there was a technical fault instead of trying to accommodate them on other flights to Gatwick which some looked only to be half full,we eventually got to Gatwick at 8pm that night, that is only one of many horror stories ive had with them.

Don't get me wrong ive gotten some cheap fares and everything went smoothly, but it's when people blindly praise the likes of Ryanair and O Leary it gets to me,their customer service is the worst ive ever come across anywhere, i don't buy into this nonsense you pay for what you get, basic customer service regardless if you spend €20 or €200 on a flight is a prequisite in my book.

sorry for the rant but has to be said!

    Fair enough.
With regard to customer service I'll play devil's advocate a bit and say that though some of the staff are a bit crap, a lot of them don't give their all as from what I've heard from Ryanair staff, they're a horrible company to work for and they get shafted as much as the passengers.

I've also seen a lot of unmotivated attacks, both verbal and physical, on staff from people who were treated fairly by them.
You'd be surprised by the number of people who have to be arrested or barred from their flights in major airports just because they don't want to pay for the extra bag they didn't mention when checking in.

A lot of people when dealing with Ryanair go in with an aggressive attitude them from the get go. While I think staff should always give the best customer service possible, the unmotivated abuse I've heard about from ticket-desk staff is shocking, and I can understand why some of them aren't very welcoming of passengers and develop a thick skin and get defensive. When you get verbally abused a few times a day you come to expect it, even if the passenger you're dealng with is being reasonable.

Unfortunately there's probably a lot of wrong on both sides.

However, the person behind the desk probably hates Ryanair as much as you do, and often simply isn't given the information they need to help passengers from higher up.

Fair point, i don't condone any sort of physical attacks on any Ryanair staff or indeed anyone with a public facing job for that matter, and yes i can understand that they must be sick of having to put up with abuse from some passengers, however this is their job and like any other similar job they need to understand that basic customer service should be a prequisite, im not expecting it to be like Qatar Airways or Etihad Airways where passengers are treated like very special guests and pampered but some of the attitudes ive seen from Ryanair staff are shocking.

In a nutshell, there are good and bad everywhere, i just do not like the way they conduct business and basically don't really give two fuc*s about passengers, they are making serious money year after year and O Leary is only going to get more extreme with his crackpot ideas like standing on a flight and having to pay to use the jacks!!

... they're a horrible company to work for and they get shafted as much as the passengers.

You don't know how right you are!!! I worked for them for three years and they are an absolute nightmare!! Staff get f**ked at every and any opportunity, and the senior management don't give a sh1te either! Kip, and I'm glad to be out.
