Evra had a very good game. You're not helping yourself with that ****e talk.

Apart from getting the run around for the previous hour?

Evra had his best game in months and months.

You have been absolutely adamant from day one that the cameras would have caught Suarez making racist taunts at Evra, Al.

Should there not equally be evidence of him jeering his wife or nationality then if thats your explanation? Its the same cameras looking at teh same players on the same pitch, only now the nature of the abuse suits your agenda........
In fairness he is only repeating what Evra was so adament about on the french tv station!

If you ever want to be taken seriously in a debate, you need to learn to be able to engage constructively.

You do nothing but embarrass yourself here and while you think your helping, you probably only serve to píss off your fellow Liverpool supporters tbh.

Well you see Evra has said that he called him an abusive term (presumably ****** or monkey or whatever) at least 10 times. That would & should be easily picked up, as the Marcello/Busquets incident which was only a couple of instances of abuse, was.

Also Evra did say it was clearly visible.

And him jeering his wife/national team etc is not my explanation, it was a response to you saying that there was no possible motive for Evra inventing the accusations.

Truth is the ball is in Evra's court as people have said. He either needs to retract his accusation or to prove it.

Then it appears you all agree that Suarez should very easily be able to use video evidence to show that anyting he said on camera was not racist in nature.

What is your explanation for how irate Evra got then?

Apart from getting the run around for the previous hour?

I thought Evra had a good first hour tbh. His primary job as a defender is to prevent goals. It was nil all at that stage wasn't it?

Suarez does not have to prove hes innocence, Evra made the accusations he now needs to back it up! Simple really!

If I was accused in the wrong of someting vile like racism then I'd want to prove my innocence any way I could. I he first thing I'd do is come clean on exactly what had actually been said in any on-field "banter" that had occured.

Flah, it really is massively irrelevant.

You are dangerously close to saying that Suarez needs to prove his innocence here on the basis that the player some fans call 'mad paddy', got mad!

It certainly is not. What we know and can see from the footage is:

    Evra gets massivley irate.

Complains after game he was abused racially.

Says it should be visible on camera.

If he's lying then something else was said to him to casue such anger. If Suarez tells what he did actualy say then maybe they can go back to the footage and try to verify his claim. it would go a long way towards clearing his name surely?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,372 ✭✭✭✭Mr Alan

He didnt even get that angry tbh, it's being overstated by Utd fans in an effort to build a case against Suarez. No one saw it as anything other than handbags at the time. The kind we see every weekend in matches.

Read the edit I made to the post a few above. You have this scarily backwards & your opinion seems to becoming more hardline as the days go by casting further doubt on Evras allegations.

Indeed. To me he comes out of that incident as the good guy tbh! When it would have been easy and suited his case not to do so, he went and told the truth anyway. So in fact he has previous hostory of honesty in such cases not of telling lies!!!! We should be thanking all the Liverpool fans for posting such a nice example of his good character!!!

A lot of people who had originally thought that Evra had made the accusations of racial abuse at Stamford Bridge (that were cleared) used it as a stick to beat Evra's character with.

Yet, it's funny that the same people have failed to give Evra credit for the honesty he showed during the process when he said he didn't hear any racial abuse directed towards him, when he so easily could have claimed to in order to back up his fellow employees.

    I read it.

I'm merely saying that Evra's mentioning of the camera make little or no sense if he's lying, none at all - and its a point I haven't seen anyone raise on here as of yet. And its a point to which the standard reply "he's a bit mad" is pretty weak to my mind.

Suarez doesn't have to do anything!! Evra's made the claim, he has to back it up. He's already said he's seen footage of Suarez racially abusing him and that it can be clearly lip read!

It was a clear, intentional foul. Read Blatter's post on the last page.

it's not quite that simple, those charges had already been ruined when the Utd coaching staffed contradicted eachother about the remarks. The racial angle was a sinking ship.

However, when the fracas was being reported in the media in the weeks after including the racial angle, he never made any public statement to stop this guy being tarred with an accusation Evra KNEW wasn't true.

If Utd fans are weirdly gonna try & make Evras involvement in that incident a 'positive', it has to be pointed out that Evra allowed that bloke be tarred a racist when he knew it wasn't true.

He would be monumentally stupid not to try and do everything he can to clear his name.

I severely doubt Evra said in French he has seen video evidence himself. It would make no sense at all. I suspect something has been lost in translation there.

LOL lost in translation now!

It was 2 or 3 sentences Flah, I seriously doubt they were mistranslated throughout the worlds press.

You really are getting desperate now.

You continue to hang your entire argument on some comments made by an angry men in French to a TV station which will most likely not be even looked at in the official investigation. The longer you keep fixating on these quotes the more desperate you look tbh.

I think it's something along the lines of:
If you're a liverpool fan, Evra is making false allegations and should be punished.
If you're a united fan, suarez is racist.

    From football 365:
However, what if it was just a big misunderstanding? It's not out of the question, after all. It was a heated conversation between a man playing in England whose first language is French, and another man playing in England whose first language is Spanish.

Surely, it is not out of the realms of possibility that some wires got crossed, and the word Evra thought he heard was in fact something perhaps aggressive, but not necessarily racist? It's easy to scoff at the idea of a misunderstanding, but can we really expect absolute clarity between two men talking in non-native tongue, in a highly-pressured game with 40,000 people screaming at them?
