^ yeah I was seriously underwhelmed by the BF3 demo but I'm still getting it. I do prefer COD games over the BF series but it'll still be a solid game, I think. Just have to try and learn not to play it like a COD game.

    BETA

A beta at this stage of development isn't really gonna make a difference to the core gameplay, bugs will be fixed but if you don't like the feel of the game now.. chances are you won't enjoy the full game (Not saying I wont, i like the beta, think the map is a bit ****ty tho).

Idd it won't . But it's still a 3 month old build . The mechanics won't change that much but it should play that bit better

Interesting about the zoom - it isn't a whole lot. Should make the 40mm cannon as effective, aiming wise as the 120mm howitzer. Or am I reading into this too much? :pac:

That's a good point. It was difficult to make out what was what.

Although at those distances, with building, explosions, weather etc., you would have it slightly hard time to pick out individuals, but a blast of a cannon should sort them.

Thing I'm looking forward to most bout MW3 is that "sense of wonder" you get when running around a brand spanking new map that you've never been on before!

Love the anticipation of not knowing whats coming!
With DLC I did quick Priv match to understand the map 1st and it ruined that anticipation for me!

I always go into a private lobby on my own and explore, when the map pack with Carnival in it came out me and Lee were running around it dicking around with the lines of sight and the good spots, handy way to learn the maps, whats gonna suck is not being able to play certain gamemodes straight off, no S&D for a while until you level up enough, but its handy xp when you do

Afew of the maps from MW2 were recycled from MW1 though, weren't they?

    Vacant, Strike, Crash and Overgrown.

Wasteland likewise, it was a COD2 map.

So then it's possible that we've already played 20% of the MW2 MP maps.

Was that not a fusion between the CoD2 map and a fan made map for CoD4 PC? Iirc, it had something to do with a competition they had with a prize they never awarded.

Hard to tell after playing Black Ops, I think one DLC multiplayer map was a remake. The golf course being the same design as Cliffside. But considering it's IW at the helm, this will more than likely be the case that 2-4 of the maps will be remakes of MW2 maps.

Never heard that before tbh. All I know is that it's the same map design as Brecourt in COD2, much like COD4's Chinatown was the same design of Cateran from COD2.

no, the remakes in MW2 were in DLC, pretty sure all the release day maps were orginal with the exception of wasteland.

In fairness to IW/Treyarch, they do release quite a lot of maps with the orginal games. Most other MP games have at max 5 or 6.

MW3 is to ship with 16 maps.

thats pretty decent, really hope they're on a par with MW2 and not Black Ops, some of the dullests fps maps ever in that game, Hanoi, zzzzzzzz

I actually didn't really like any maps in mw2. Afgan, scrapyard and skidrow were the only 3 I liked. Most of blops maps are pretty crap aswell though. Except summit. I loves me some summit

Maps I loved - Afghan, Terminal, Highrise, Sub Base, Wasteland, Scrapyard, Favela

Maps I disliked/hated - Derail, Estate (C spawn, eeww!), Invasion, Karachi, Quarry, Rundown, Rust.

I'd happily get any DLC which includes any of the maps above. I only really felt passionate about a few maps in Black Ops, Summit Radiation and Stadium spring to mind. I'm not going to say 'boring dull maps', but very few captured my excitement as seeing Afghan or Terminal in the 'Map Locked In' slot in Mw2 :D

Every game is gonna have a great maps and shocking maps!!

    Terminal was drooling good fun!!
Terminal, sub base, afgan n scrapyard all fantastic!

But on flip side.. derail, underpass and estate were horrid!!

For blops, always loved playing Summit, stadium, Havana, Nuketown and Firing range

Absolutely hated crisis, Hanoi and Villa

I'm positive MW3 will have epic maps and some real stinkers!! with 16 maps, there is defo gonna be a big bogey in there somewhere :o

Summit is by far the best Blops map, really enjoyed that.

Y u no like Terminal? tis one of the best COD maps ever, works for every single game mode. except being spawn trapped at A is a pain in the balls, spawn trapping A however, is a hoot :D

Summit is a COD classic IMHO, it was great with all gametypes. Stadium, Havana, Nuketown, Kowloon(for GW) were also good. I liked Hanoi. It was a Ground War map and I liked the long lines of sight. If it were reduced by like 25% at least it could have been a good map. On the otherhand, Firing Range(mainly as it was overkill with the amount of times it came up) and Crisis were god awful, likewise the Hotel, Stockpile map pack.

Afghan, Favela, Bailout and Terminal are excellent maps in MW2. Invasion is a bit like Kowloon in a way that it was too big I feel. There were a good few duds though in Derail, Rundown, Underpass, Quarry and Estate. Truly god awful maps.

Overall, and once again ;) COD4 maps win in the end :D

Only so many times I can play that map and it pops up far too much, and when it does it's near guaranteed to be selected . It's not bad in a design sense or even colour scheme I'll give you that.

I like Rundown for Demolition though, defending B is great craic as the room is so small, just keep lobbing smoke grenades and semtext and you can obliterate people, having a riot shield in there is a hoot.

if I had to pick a worst map on MW2 itd be Fuel, just a dull, dull map, way to big, about 70% of it isnt used, all that flat desert part with the oil pumps is pointless
