Summit is by far the best Blops map, really enjoyed that.

Y u no like Terminal? tis one of the best COD maps ever, works for every single game mode. except being spawn trapped at A is a pain in the balls, spawn trapping A however, is a hoot :D

Terminal was alright. I just hated the stupid plane with everyone camping in it. I forgot highrise I liked that one too.

I like Rundown for Demolition though, defending B is great craic as the room is so small, just keep lobbing smoke grenades and semtext and you can obliterate people, having a riot shield in there is a hoot.

if I had to pick a worst map on MW2 itd be Fuel, just a dull, dull map, way to big, about 70% of it isnt used, all that flat desert part with the oil pumps is pointless

Forgot about Fuel. Besides the COD4 remakes and Bailout,I thought the DLC maps were poor for MW2.

Rundown could be cut by at least 30%, the petrol station side namely.

I was never huge on highrise.. used to love getting a riot shield and C4 on that map thou! great craic!!

even moreso, you know the way at the start of everymatch ppl try snipe quickscope across the map.. I love just standing there and jumping up and down with my riot shield just to piss people off!!

Haha good times. I liked it because the spawns were predictable and any high camping spots were a bitch to get too. Even if people were camping in the back of a building it was easy enough to clear them out

Most of the big maps like Derail, Fuel and Hanoi have a lot of thought put into them but are really poorly used on consoles. On the pc with dedicated servers you could fit 24 to 36 players easily into Derail and Fuel and if you had 5 capture points for domination and you'd be nearer to the action, which is the major gripe with them being too big.

CoD4's big maps are all small when compared throughout the series but either through better spawn systems, superior design or whatever they just seem more intense and action packed than what has followed. To me, it would often feel like there were a lot more players because you were never far from the action, as the series has progressed there has been a gradual loss of those close range frenetic moments.

agree about COD4, Bloc is a good sized map and feels chaotic, whereas somethnig like Fuel you're trudging around a mostly empty map even on ground war as everyone sticks to the buildings and ignores the flat area, even more so since the rock glitch was fixed, theres no flags, plans, nothing over there its all concentrated on the other side of the map.

    Good point.

16 maps to start might be good but it will depend on the quality of them.

Going by past reveals and what not, I'm fairly sure it goes by pacific time so around 1am if we are lucky alright.

its still the best console fps engine by far, crysis and bf3 for all their graphical power run at half the speed and framerate. play the bf3 beta for a while then go onto mw2, the difference in how smooth it is is staggering.

agreed. the engine is designed for gameplay and keeping it running smooth so if for some reason strain does happen it may drop to 50FPS where as BF3 would drop to 20FPS or lower

it lags but thats to do with servers not the engine, you rarely if ever see slowdown on it. it just feels right, other fps games are too heavy, crysis, bf3, killzone (it works for the combat style in that though) feel like you're trudging around instead of running. it shows when newer fps games have pad options that are nearly identical to CODs setup, once you go tactical you never go back, R3 prone for the muthfcuking win

    +1.

I prefer COD every time because it simply has more playability than BF, even when I go back to the start and play COD1, it is still great fun and easy to get into.

The best thing about tactical is that if you accidentally hit R3 when surprised you don't look like a complete twat panic knifing from halfway across the map, you look like you are coolly going prone real quick to avoid dying. It immediately makes you seem like a better player to the newbs. And on that note, I have brought my KD from .75 to .96 since starting to use Tactical. :) should be up to 1.0 by next week, 1000 kills to go! :D

Nope, their crisp, clean yet gritty, they have many aspects like sunlight bouncing off metal and your gun, the skybox is clear and the map design plus sound is crazy, in MW3 gameplay Tejbz walked into a store in Arkaden and the metal frame of the door clinked just for that one footstep I was like wow! :pac:
Have you a link to that vid?

the footsteps are very impressive in MW2 and 3 from what I've heard, Blops ones were ****ing horrid, was just a random collection of noise didnt match your on screen actions at all, in MW2 you can hear your feet scuff surfaces as you climb and running from metal to dirt has a distinct sound instead of random clanging
