Sorry! I was having a bit of a stupid moment and thought by "second round offers" you were talking about the CAO course offers :/

There's apparently a 'Trinity Hall Orientation' weekend, where we get to know each other, find our way around, find out all about Halls, and general orientation stuff too I guess :P

They recommend moving in on the Friday but I think you can still go on the Saturday

2nd round offers guys....http://www.wardentrinityhall.tcdlife.ie/rooms/Round2.html. Also if you dont get offered place in halls , then there are obviously advantages to living in a house nearby or in town-less security and therfore more chance to go crazy!

i asked a guy I knew what I should write in the personal statement and he said it was important to put stuff your REALLY interested in 'cause it helps them put like minded people together :)
Some people lie on it 'cause they think it will give them higher chances of getting in or something
I got into halls and i wrote things like my favourite band and tv show XD
    :)

What do you mean? You did first year in America but with the Trinity syllabus?

no, i just transferred. i guess that's not as common a thing in ireland, transferring schools or transferring courses. very common in the us. as long as your course was similar enough and you got good enough grades in the ones that were important there is no reason why you should have to start again at first year.

    heyy

I was just wondering if there were any other freshers now looking for private accommodation after not getting a place at trinity hall and whether people wanted to try to look for accommodation together? I'm moving from London and actually have no idea what to do!

you have to Move in friday.
    Get permission otherwise.
I don't know why you wouldn't move in on friday though...

A friend of mine was just accepted in to Trinity, as a second round CAO offer. He's missed the boat for halls, so he's fairly stuck for somewhere to live.

Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions of where to find accommodation or where to look to find places other students will be living?

Obviously, there are tons of houses / apartments on Daft.ie etc, but in his first year, it would be better for him to live just with other students, so he can get to know people.

Tell him to apply for halls anyways because spaces always free up, he could ring the accommodation office and explain if he lives very far away, or if he lives close to uni he could organise accommodation for the first month or so until a place frees up in halls. In any case, he'll need to arrange something for the first month
