AFAIK there's no TVs in the apartaments, but there's a TV room in the building.

apparently, the 6 people in the apartment can chip in a tenner each and theres a shop around the corner selling small TVs for €60.

Mixed only when theres no other options available afaik. Usually all same gender, with few exceptions.

Anyone have any clue if there's any documents needed when we're moving in? Eg. to confirm that we paid the deposit and the first installment? If so, would the prints of emails do?

I'm just going to print off every email TCD have sent me. And find any relevant bank statements too :)

All you need to do apparently is bring in a bank statement showing that you paid your accommodation fees

What do I need to bring tomorrow?? I have no bank statement or anything like that, just the emails saying I paid the Fees. Would that and a Passport be enough to get in? :/

I paid through credit card so there's no bank statement yet. Some people here seem to be bringing something like that so I'm a bit confused! Was there an email sent out about what we need to bring? I can't find one anyway.

I've just printed off every email that I've gotten from CAO/TCD/Halls in the last month, so hopefully whatever they want will be in there :D

My passport's not in date, but it should be fine right? It is me after all :D Just a considerably younger version XD

Im a leaving cert thinking about BEESS in Trinity and coming to Trinity Halls but ive heard its a major pain travelling in and out to Trinity... Was wondering if this has a major effect on whether people join societies cause it would mean a good 4 bus journeys a day roughly??

has anyone had this problem or is it a factor as i'd love to get involved in loads of clubs & societies like law, debating, swimming, musical etc...

Halls is half an hour away. Plenty of time to get involved.

You won't have 4 bus journeys a day at all. You'll just stay in college most times & hang around, plus most travel options (Luas pass, bus rambler) will allow unlimited travel on the one day, so it won't cost extra. Half an hour journey is quite close compared to commuters, so you have more opportunity to get involved.

The bus can do it in 10 mins during quiet times, so it's not such a pain apart from the morning and evening rush hours.

That's awfully optimistic. I only got from the city centre to Halls in 10 minutes if it was the last bus home (11.30pm)

From 8am to 7pm, ignoring the rush hour times within that, you're looking at about 25 minutes from leaving your room to reaching arts block on schedule (and maybe 9 out of 10 times at that).

Though traffic has probably eased off since I was in Halls...

    Nope.
20 past 8 bus if you want to be guaranteed on time, half8 will get you there often too. Unlesss it's changed much since I was in halls. It's a 15 minute cycle though, which is the best/cheapest option!

Nope to which bit?!:) I was talking to the typical bus journey outside the 8-9am, 1-2pm* and 4.30pm to 6pm rush hour times. Bike is a good option for halls. For people starting out and with a mediocre bike, 20 minutes will be closer. Then you've to park your bike and so on.

    *lunchtime was quite variable.

Cycling is only the best option if you aren't an unfit fat ****.
