Ya it's so exciting now. I'll be heading off to tkmaxx tomorrow to do some bedroom shopping, love the stuff they have!

Hoping I'll find out what kind of room soon, it'll be nice to know! :)

Lads does anyone know what the craic is for new students who didn't get halls? Can first years apply on campus?

Campus is already well gone. You can either:
Get looking on daft (probably advised anyway)
Look at other student accom (NCI, griffith)
Ask in the SU office about help looking for accommodation.

Send an email to halls telling them you're really stuck, advocating why you'd fit right in in halls, and why you don't have any other options.
Follow that up with a phone call... It's worth a shot at least!

May I ask which one you would suggest is best? Is there much chance getting in the next round?

If you can get anyone else to share with you, try getting somewhere off daft. You'll save an unreal amount of money and potentially be a lot closer to college. Pop into the accom. office in House 6 and have a chat with the SU guys, they were very helpful when I was going into 1st year. Saying that, the craic and convenience of student accommodation for first year is hard to beat.

If you're looking for accommodation on your own, quite a lot of Trinity students live in NCI! It's the same kind of set-up I guess, although it's actually a good bit closer to college and town than Halls is. It's down towards the o2 like, and right on the Luas line. I've never lived in NCI, but I've visited friends who did and it was quite nice. All student accommodation is kind of... uniform, almost.

I applied for Halls late when I lived there and got a single room. There's no harm in sending them an email and pleading your case a bit, but nothing's guaranteed. I'm fairly surprised people are getting rejected, it's really expensive!

I know people who have stayed in Hall saying how much craic there is as you mentioned above. I'll send an email/ring tomorrow to see what I can do. I'm from Belfast, which isn't too far away compared to others but I feel it would have been real handy. I'll look up NCI and Daft as well. Thanks for the help!

There's also Herberton student accommodation in Rialto a few friends from Trinity stayed there and said it was grand. Very handy for anyone out in James's. As bythewoods said once you see one student accommodation you've seen them all!!

It's worth noting though that plenty of student accommodation places don't have ovens which is a pain in the arse so if you're going to need one be sure to ask when you call.

I'm the same, and my guess is that once you get an actual email accepting/declining your application, then it will say it has been reviewed.

I rang the office and they said that there are shared rooms still available and to email that I want to be considered for Round 2 and then wait and see.

Wouldn't trust the application not being reveiwed. the list are the people who will get offers

For anyone who cares, there are now only 636 numbers, the last one in column 1 isn't there anymore :? Maybe someone declined the offer?
Possible good news for all you currently homeless people :D

Anyone gotten the formal offer yet? I'm on the list, but won't feel safe in having a roof over my head for the year until I get the email or whatever :P
