I'ts a pretty basic tablet, specs here

Its only a 7" which is pretty small and android 2.1 as standard (though upgradable). That said some of the reviews seem pretty positive.

im gettimg very tempted with it. i have until tuesday to decide though a new camera will probably take priority...sigh

Did he? OK, well I'm just telling you what happens today anyway.
You can get one on ebay from the US for about €220 including P+P. Prices seem to be dropping all the time.

Nothing at the bottom of my receipt :(

Oh, I went to a till. You might want to go back and ask... My store told me they have done away with the cards and its all on the receipts now. €20 is €20 after all! Will give you a tenner off your touch pad case!

Stil though, you have to factor in:
-You would be paying a profiteer €220 /$ 320~ for a tablet that was on sale there for $99 / €65~.
-You'd have to add the shopping charge (I've seen some ebayers charge €80 or more)
-You'd have to pay the Tax/import duty.
-And the fact it comes with a 110volt charger (though you can charge it by USB instead.

You can't really factor in the seller's profit when it's still the cheapest you can get it.
If we go for the more expensive 32GB what I see is
    US $263.99 Approximately EUR 183.94
Postage: US $89.95(approx. EUR 62.67) - Expedited Int'l Flat Rate Postage
    Total is €246.
I doubt if you'd pay import duty. I certainly never have on the many things I bought from the US.
Charger might be a problem. Is it a really odd one?

    EDIT: Found another
    US $260.00 Approximately EUR 181.16
Postage: US $80.00 (approx. EUR 55.74)
    Total €237

(I've tried PC World and Harvey Normans in Carrickmines, PC World Currys and Argos in Liffey Valley and Argos in Stephens Green.)

Beware: The current cheaply priced one has an ARM 6 processor and a single touch screen, this is the one being sold cheap-ish in Europe and.. currently, for $99 Australian dollars, in Australia.

YOU WILL NOT be running Flash on this, with ARM 6, it just isn't going to happen, it is more or less a Jumbo sized budget Android phone, with the same processing crunch as say.. a Samsung Europa.

It is a nice compact tablet if your needs are simple, but it bears no relation to the ability of the HP TouchTablet, if you get it with ideas about the performance being equal, you'll be disappointed. I did have this tablet in mind for myself, as all I need is very basic browsing and the Google mail app, along with the default youTube player.

There's a beefed up version of the zte v9 due to replace the ARM6 version at a later date.

Do you have any details of this promotion? i.e. how long does it run for etc?

By buying them from profiteers like that you're rewarding people who bought up the stock preventing people here buying them. Not only are they ripping you off, you're encouraging them to do it.

I got €10 voucher for Sept and another for Oct - didn't seem to be any terms and conditions. Argos retail park Cork. Plainly visible on receipt.

For those of you lucky enough to get your hands on a TP (and no, I didn't get one) It will come in useful when the rest of us get one ;)

    http://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/got-a-slow-hp-touchpad-here-are-3-easy-ways-to-speed-it-up/

Also, news from HP, is that stock is set to ship from their warehouse NEXT WEEKEND. Apparently HP were trying to dump stock on Best Buy before the dramatic price drop, and BB told them to get lost until their existing stock started selling - So think of how many TP's were built and in inventory.

So I would say to people, do not purchase above cost. Not sure if this stock will reach Europe though - Ill post back if I hear anything on it.

Every time you shop at a supermarket, you're rewarding profiteers, every time you buy clothing made in the far east\Pacific Rim etc..

Remember, HP didn't have a problem having these priced at close to €500 euro, until a few days back..

You'll definitely get hit with customs though. I ordered a Dingoo from DX and got hit. Once they see these things flooding in to the country they'll clamp down ...hard!

Really, so do Tesco buy up ALL the milk so that you can't buy it anywhere else and have to pay their vastly inflated prices? Because I'm pretty sure I've bought milk in plenty of places.

There's a vast difference between profiteering and making a profit.
