    Just to update...

    Got a text last night from Argos at 8pm saying my order had arrived.

    For reference - made reservation last Sunday - was not due to be in stock til Tuesday.

    Picked up my order earlier on today, no fuss at all! Had my reservations going in..

    So, in short - Argos Galway are honouring reservations.

    Ok so I was just browsing in CPW in Mahon Point Cork.
    Half thinking of getting an asus transformer, was speaking to the assistant who said ah the Asus is nce but we have a HP one for 99 :eek:

    I was saying to myself - wtf surely people have checked here.


    Anyway they have one on display, she said that they never actually sold it in that store but had one in the back as a demo. She said they were told by HQ in the UK to put it on display and advise customers that they would have stock in September at 99 quid.

    She also said they wouldn't be advised to put it on display if they were getting no stock - makes sense..

    I did try to put my name down for one - to no avail as it wasn't up on their stock system.


    The Saga continues......

    What are the chances a bricked Touchpad will be for sale on ebay for parts within a week...? :P

    Got mine!

    Blanchardstown SC Argos got a delivery this afternoon of 16 units. Staff aren't getting any, or so I was told, they are all for reserves. They told me they had been considering cancelling all reservations, but then this lot came through after a lot of wrangling with HP.

    Thanks very much OP, and Mr Trade In too - the first person to suggest reserving in Argos as far as I can tell.
    Reserved online 22/08 Argos Naas, initial due date 30/08
    text yesterday to say it had arrived.
    No others in stock nor any reservations that were about to expire.

    Not even that the till system wont let them sell that one because the PLU that serial number is set to is marked not for sale.
