Why do we have to put up with SKANGERS?

I hate Skangers! I am sure most people do. Even secretly. I am sure Skangers hate themselves too, as they spent alot of time trying to kill themselves with drugs and fights and seem to enjoy getting themselves arrested or shot to top off a night on "the Buzz".

So, they wear a uniform and are clearly identifiable. They hang around in large groups annoying the whole neighbourhood. They are prone to abusive behaviour, vandalism and voilent crime. A search of almost any skanger will turn up drugs at any time. They don't contribute to society except as ex heroine addict guest speakers in schools.

Why the hell does the gov not just Clean this human excrement up? Its not like they are hard to find they are fookin everywhere!

Would you Support government legislation to crackdown on Skanger culture and behaviour?

For the record I am from poorer areas associated with skangerry , born and reared. I never stole a car or played hardhouse music at 2 am in an apartment block at ludacris volumes. I don't go around threatening to shoot people.

I make no connection between Skangers and poor people. I am a poor person.

The worst ones are the people who try to be skangers/chavs but aren't really..I don't get why anyone would actually want to be one

What I'm interested in is; what do American and European police do to keep their skanger equivalents in order.
The UK and Ireland seems to have a chav culture that isn't nearly as bad elsewhere. What's causing the problem and what's the solution?

We used to have this guy called The Citizen, who used to sort this out,but he seems to have gone off the radar, give him a call! I dunno if he has his own costume or not, but he means business!

Similarly a rich person might be forced to consider your level of imput/importance in the world since your poor and probably can't make much of a difference with your pennys!

Skangers run riot in Ireland, safe in the knowledge that they are untouchable. The cops dont give a flying fock, theyre too busy hassling middle class cyclists and waiting for their lavish gilt-edged pensions when they "retire" at age 50. If a skanger gets convicted of murdering some poor law-abiding middle class cyclist he lives the life of Reilly inside, yoked or skagged out of it 24/7 in the Joy then walks after 8 years into his free taxpayer paid for house and lavish dole.

Here's a list of crimes commonly committed by some snobs:

wearing Ugg boots
wearing collar up on polo shirts
wearing gratuitous sunglasses

To be honest, looking at the list, snobs bother me much less. At least they aren't likely to break into my house or stab me.

Not all of them sure, but a lot of such behaviour goes on across all classes. Some of the most hooligany behaviour I've seen has been from rich kids, like the guys who kicked the guy to death outside a night club, or the many stories of heard from wealthy guys about how they abused homeless people in a variety of ways.
Lots of trouble in our area with rich, spoiled students and recent graduates with insanely loud parties at all hours of the night.
And just look at Rag Week in Galway. That's what I would call skangerish behaviour, and many of those responsible were fairly well-off.

Violence and intimidation are found everywhere, "skangers" are just more noticeable when they do it as they're easier to identify.

Most wealthy people hold on to their money and do not try and do good, from working for charities in the past its the working class who are more willing to give their time what they have. edit:voluntarily of course I'm not one of those!

Let me just make the distinction here, a scumbag in this context is someone who categorically is not contributing to society or willing to and is anti social
being poor does not strip away your positive input into society or say anything about your character being anti social does.

Just as nobody with a brain thinks that all 'poor' people are skangers, or even that all 'skangers' are bad, I don't think anyone is claiming that all middle-class people are good. I know very well what they can be like.

But have we really got so PC that we can't say that the majority of social problems (violence, problematic substance abuse, criminality etc.) come from one particular group of people?

I was joking, but I've only ever heard skanger used to describe dubliners(not all dubliners, just the skangery ones), the ones outside dubin would just be called scumbags. I could have been picking it up wrong though.

When I was in Berlin I did not once see anyone lounging about outside a store, bar or fast food place, no trackie clad bai's wearing baseball caps hasstling people, asking for fags, also no litter whatsoever, there was alot of graffiti, but I like graffiti... Berlin, a land of contrast.

in all honesty though, who would vote no in this poll. The real question is what do you do about it?
