It's an AC Petite. Ac didn't just make sports cars!
These were a three-wheeled microcar with a rear-mounted 350*cc Villiers single cylinder, two stroke engine. The cars had a single bench seat seating two adults and was said to be capable of 60*mpg.

There were two versions of the car. Between 1953 and 1955 the car was fitted with a Villiers 27B engine and two different sizes of wheel, the rears were 18 inch spoked wheels whilst the front was only 8 inches. In 1955 a Mark II version was launched, this had minor changes to the exterior trim, a slightly more powerful Villiers 28B engine and 12 inch wheels both front and rear.

I remember a Maybach being around the Loughlinstown area 7 or 8 years ago. Didn't know what it was at first (came up behind it) ... thought it was actually a Lexus, and my first thoughts were "They've overdone it with the plastics ... the Germans would never do that" :p Gross looking thing imo.

carchaeologist is right, its an AC Petite. There was either one of these or an Invacar for sale here a year or so ago. I was interested in buying it but was out of the country working at the time. Its not a 68 Mustang or a 450 6.9 but I find them interesting nonetheless.

I took a trip to the Knudstorp ring today for a historic race meeting.

Loads of classics, too many to post all here but I have upload the days full unedited camera roll here if anyone is interested. 239 photos in total about 90% of which are classics.

Here are my own personal favourites for a flavour.

1st. car I drove on a public road was a Viva.

    Saab Monte Carlo 850.

Great pics Do-more looks like a great meeting. Love the 350GT, very rare car. Btw whats the story with the headlight washwipes on the Viva and Granada Coupe? Were they obligatory at the time in Sweden or just a common after market fit?

Yes, I don't know in what year they became mandatory but they were up until a few years ago. I think the rules were relaxed due to some EU free market regulations so that 2nd.hand imports didn't have to be retro-fitted with head lamp cleaning systems.

I believe that some wiper units on Saab 99's were notorious for seizing up and needed regular replacement to pass the (NCT) car test.

Almost all cars supplied new here still have headlamp washer jets fitted as standard.

BTW there are at least 2 Granada Coupes still in use as daily drivers in the town near to where I live, will try to get some snaps.

I'm never sure if people get upset with me posting "furren" photos here or not.

There is a huge interest in old cars here, an awful lot are imported from the US but also from the UK and central Europe. Despite the harsh winter weather there are also a lot of original Swedish classics as many are garaged all their life and are generally well maintained. Road tax is also pretty cheap so they don't have the trap that you have in Ireland where at a certain point in a cars life the annual road tax can be 3 times the value of the car and they end up getting scraped as a result.

I only went on the spur of the moment, having seen the event mentioned on the net yesterday morning, so the battery in my camera (Canon EOS 1000D) wasn't even recently charged but still this morning the battery is showing as full!

No dedication involved here, I enjoy the cars and am glad if others enjoy the photos too. With photobucket's bulk uploader it's only a few clicks to throw them all up onto the net.

It seems like I spent half my youth in the paddock of Mondello, Kirkistown and the Park at a time when Commodores and Capris were in the production class not classics!

Must of thought I was planning to rob their Bugatti!

[Edit] They may also have being trying to figure out what my CJH F off! T-shirt was all about!

Not sure if it's original or a clone it's a 35B with chassis no. 4230 owned by Janne Hansson. If it is original it's probably worth the thick end of €500,000 but I suspect it may be a clone. Either ways I was happy to see it and see it being used on a race track for what it was intended and not in a museum.

The one beside it is a Type 51 owned by Per-Olaf Håkansson.

    Oops!

Not back - tracking but I do like the overall look, would prefer the wheelbase a bit shorter / better proportioned but the back end ... I don't know what they were thinking!

As you say though, each to their own. I'm sure some of my favourites wouldn't be to everyone's taste. Actually I can confirm that, 'cause Volvoman was kind enough to oblige with his honesty when I posted a link to an Escort Cabrio :D

Chassis number is far too early for a T35 of any variation.

May be inaccurate so, I just checked the Swedish registration number database online and that is what is given.

It also states that the car was first registered in Sweden in 2007 and wasn't registered abroad prior to that so that's what makes me suspect it's a clone.

Nice to see the chrome wiper blades. Black ones on older classics are a bit of a bugbear for me!

I just checked the registration online and the post 73 registration number of this car is CLR 504 but what the owner has now done is to purchase a personal plate for the car (You can have any combination of up to 7 letters/numbers/spaces as long as it isn't deemed offensive) with the cars original pre '73 registration number.

The personal plate costs 6000SEK (about €650) and lasts for 10 years.
