I'm aware it's still early but is it so much to ask that the results be ready to go at 9AM or at least before 1 O'Clock

At what time are they out?

Agreed. Getting a RSI hitting refresh with my laptop under my desk in work. Class. GL all!

Nobody knows really. We can guess anytime between 10 and 3 based on last semester and previous years, but it's really just whenever they're ready to go. We'll get an email whenever they go live.

that's not cool, waiting til today has been a pain in ones arse, now having to hold off til 3 is just plain silly!

They always say 3 but they're nearly always out before then. Hopefully, anyway!

Yeah, why does it take them so long to promulgate... whatever that is.

My Portal page - must be getting uploaded as we speak?
Database services are temporarily unavailable. We apologise for the inconvenience.

Should you require course information a full prospectus can be downloaded.

Should you require staff contact information a full phonebook file can be downloaded.

Anyone got the direct link instead of going by the middle step - that being the portal page menu -

The link is something like dcu.ie.blablabla.results.php or something.

IMO, it is completely ridiculous the way the DCU results are released. I mean whats the big deal with 9am. At least if they said 9am tomorrow ie delay it a day so they get to put it together, it wouldn't be so bad. Its just the dragging it out that is so... - lame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭Einstein?

They should stay up at midnight and have everything ready and double checked at 1am so then at 6am they can wake up and press one button. A little courtesy for DCU students would be nice :)

Yea not a great fan of this whole "everyone gets their results at the same time" crap. Trinity does it by faculty don't they? and Maynooth has something similar.

Welcome to DCU, where just about everything is half-baked and poorly planned out!

    It's a bit of a mess alright.

I was emailed the results of one of my semester 2 exams two/three weeks ago.

Didnt wtf was going on when I saw that email - thought all the results were out but obviously not.

    I love the irony in the ISS email sent out recently;

''DCU - University of the year 2010''

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,435 ✭✭✭✭redout

Email from ISS just now saying they are experiencing server problems!

I don't see why everyone is complaining. Step away your pcs, try forget about it and come back in an hour or two.

Just got a mail from DCU:

    "Dear Colleages,

Please be aware that we are experiencing problems with our main web server.
We are working hard to restore service as soon as possible,
    Kind regards,

    xxx xxxx "
