Anyone know if when you get semester 2 results online come 30th June will they also re-post your semester 1 results?

Do we get a paper copy of overall semester 1 & 2 results in the post ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34 R.M.

I never got semester 1 results posted to me after xmas but last year anyway i got semester one and two results posted to my house after they were posted online in june.

Yeah, thinks its €190 irregardless of whether you are re-sitting one or eight exams. Way too expensive for just one re-sit in my opinion.

The results you have for semester one are provisional results. They aren't your final results until the semester 2 results are in.I assume its to do with things such as compensating people.Your final semester one and two results are posted out together

So will the registry be open on the 30th? I need to send off my MA forms stamped to say I got at least a 2.1 ASAP as in a week ago.

When the results arrive do they give you your overall degree mark as well as the semester 2 results?

When they sent out the results last year (I was in 1st year) they included whether you got a First, Second etc. overall.
Then a few days after that they put up the passlist with student numbers in order of performance.

If you mean final year then I dunno, they might do it differently in that case.

It'd depend on what years of your degree are counted - if it's just final year then the grade for the year that's on the results would be your degree grade I assume. If previous years counted too you'd have to get your average of all the years contributing.

But what if you studied Communications and this is too complicated for you? Is there an easier way?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 584 ✭✭✭dizzywizlw

I'm aware it's still early but is it so much to ask that the results be ready to go at 9AM or at least before 1 O'Clock

Nobody knows really. We can guess anytime between 10 and 3 based on last semester and previous years, but it's really just whenever they're ready to go. We'll get an email whenever they go live.

    http://www.dcu.ie/registry/examinations/results.shtml

that's not cool, waiting til today has been a pain in ones arse, now having to hold off til 3 is just plain silly!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13 smadcu

They always say 3 but they're nearly always out before then. Hopefully, anyway!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 87 ✭✭wattlendaub

Anyone got the direct link instead of going by the middle step - that being the portal page menu -

The link is something like dcu.ie.blablabla.results.php or something.

    Come ooooooon!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12 seneca

IMO, it is completely ridiculous the way the DCU results are released. I mean whats the big deal with 9am. At least if they said 9am tomorrow ie delay it a day so they get to put it together, it wouldn't be so bad. Its just the dragging it out that is so... - lame.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 378 ✭✭Einstein?

They should stay up at midnight and have everything ready and double checked at 1am so then at 6am they can wake up and press one button. A little courtesy for DCU students would be nice :)
