    Split/Second > Blur!

Actually loving the free (terms and conditions apply) copy of Burnout Paradise we scored for a month with our free (terms and conditions apply) month of PSNcrap. It's a strange game, but oddly compelling. Plus showtime mode is a bag of win :) It makes no sense, but it's the most brilliantly weird feature I've seen in a driving game.

Really has me tempted to pick up a copy of Hot Pursuit. Criterion make damn slick driving games.

Getting the movie cars in Burnout Paradise is pretty cool and no moment is so intense and awaited as lining up the DeLorean analog, going into hover mode and hitting the gas!

I bought the DLC for Forza 3 for that specifically for the DeLorean. My all-time favourite car. :)

Hard Drivin' on the GB!!! I suppose they did get it running (at sub 5FPS might I add) on the spectrum which has similar hardware to the GB.

Well I've played it a few times on GB and it plays reasonable, it's not gonna win any prizes for GotY or anything but it'll do.

For getting a full filled polygon engine running on the GB they deserve a medal.

It looks and runs well on the Gameboy but the most amazing thing about it is the physics it plays very close to the arcade bearing in mind that it's a GB game

I'm amazed at what some games did on it. Faceball and X are two other amazing looking games.

there's a fair few games that really puct the GB hardware especially some shmups like Nemesis (Gradius) that run/play and look beautiful, it really is testament to how good some devs are to get the most of a console like the GB

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 53,276 CMod ✭✭✭✭Retr0gamer

There's one shmup I saw for the GB that is really clever. It manages to do gorgeous backgrounds and loads of bullets on screen by displaying the backgrounds on the first frame and sprites on the second frame. On an emulator it looks like everything is a flickering mess but on the original hardware because of the poor refresh times of the GB LCD screen there's no flickering at all.

Never realized it was a kung fu master spin off(I'd always given it a miss in the arcades as I thought it was a double dragon clone!)

I got a new 8GB SD card for my camera today from Dealextreme. So thought I'd test it out and take some pics ;)

I couldn't recommend this 3DS case enough. Bought it on a whim as I needed one..took a gamble as it was super cheap. ($4.99)

One thing I've found about my own 3DS is that the hinge is a little loose..this leads to top screen 'flappage' while playing on the bus. This case completely stopped that as it has hinges of its own. I'd buy it for that alone :)

Another thing they seem to be doing..about a month ago I bought a screen protector for the 3DS. Managed to get it on the touch screen, but the top one had too many bubbles so I ordered some more.

The second two I ordered, rather than just covering the viewing display, actually cover the whole top of the console, including the bezel. Worth picking up too.

Look at that spine card!!!!! Not only that but the registration card is nice and crisp too! Gbhjkndsgbbjiiioopsxvuumklkl.,hs!!!!

One problem though, the CD isn't lined up straight in the case. Disappointed with that. :(

Congratulations on a fine purchase. Now get a cello bag round it pronto!

Ah, can't believe I left the CD in wonky for the pictures, for shame :(

What's the story with those bags? Have you got an ebay link?

Just won an auction for a Gamecube Broadband adapter on eBay.
For what I think is a bargain price of 11 euro including delivery, happy days.

I suggest a reshoot, perhaps with a flash diffuser and a light meter. :D

For ensuring your CD's are always lined up straight in their cases, I suggest investing in one of these:

As for the wraps. Go for OPP cello wraps. I got 2 bags of Amps part no. CS09a. Suitable for single jewels. They do double jewel wraps but I don't need many, if any, right now.

The DVD sleeves are Mirror wraps, don't have a part no. for those but here's the two eBay links I bought from:

Once I get my Saturn back out I'll do a boudoir style photo shoot of my Saturn stuff. Extra vaseline smear on the lens for added sleeze :D

Thanks a mil for those links! I never really considered bagging games. It's a really good idea though. Especially with jewel cases as they always get scratched and mangled.

Would those cd wraps fit nicely on NES carts?

The Amps wraps won't, they are just enough to cover a single jewel CD. You can order different sizes though. Best bet is to do an eBay search for 'opp cello bags' or 'cello wrapping sleeves'. A company in .hk flogs tonnes of different sizes wraps on eBay, I'd say you'd get NES one's in there.

Failing that the DVD wraps might?

No probs. Indeed I replaced a stack of my PC Engine jewel fronts as they were yellowed and scratched. Those will be bagged up asap.

You could always take wrapping games a step further and order some of this:

    A step too far

Vaccum seal the cello wraps and back fill them with argon gas. Just because. :D

You think that's bad. You should see how I have my Apple 1 stored :D

My girlfriend would probably faint if she knew how much I spent just storing the bloody thing :o

Then again she just wouldn't get how much it's actually worth these days and that the packaging is an investment.
