    Agreed.

Though they jam-packed the field last year. I actually think it was €50 last year too.

It's a pain in the hole, but the way clubs are at the moment, it's hard to blame them for setting the highest possible price at which they can fill the field.

A club setting a stupid fee and getting a half-full timesheet deserves criticism, but the guy above saying "Black Bush is €20 for 36", says it all really. Powerscourt is a top notch facility in very close proximity to a huge population of golfers (South Dublin). Black Bush is a bit further out, and not as good a set-up.

    Hi Guys,
Long time reader first time poster. Moyvalley Inter and Junior Scratch Cup competitions are on the 3rd of July. €20 for visitors. Time sheet is currently open. I played there at the weekend and it was in great condition.

Sorry for the silly questions......but in an intermediate scratch cup isn't the max handicap allowed 18? Can a higher handicap play in the ISC and play off 18 for the day?

pity the jsc is 5-9s. would like to play in this.
i think a standard for jsc should be established and stuck to, some are 5-9....some 4-9....is a pith when youre 4, no-mans land.

Think Kilkenny Junior is on Sunday 17th July, 36 holes for ~ €25 including lunch (a friend phoned me today & provisionally booked so check to be sure). Nice course and a nice place to spend the night before...

Think there's a real case for scratch cups for something like 3-7 h/cs... Call it a Minor scratch cup or whatever. I've heard so often about people having nothing to really play for (inter club wise) when you hit the no mans land of 4!!

    They are Open competitions.
Strokes competitions for different categories of handicaps.

Minor Scratch Cup would be 18 and above.
Intermediate Scratch Cup would be mostly 10-18 handicap.
Junior Scratch cup would be mostly 5-9 handicap.
Senior Scratch Cup would be mostly 4 and below.

Prizes are for lowest gross scores without deducting your handicap and nett prizes deducting your handicap.

Some Junior and Senior are over two rounds in one day or over two days having to qualify based on the first round score.

Probably missed something but ya get the gist of it.

Nope, missing my regular slot as well as I'm off 14. Played on Wed and course looked superb. Enjoy.

It's not a tight course. Front 9 is play what you see, back 9 is great fun and you get away without having much local knowledge.

There are a few guys here playing in it.
