I know it was going to play easier with the rain, but they have deliberately cut holes in birdieable spots hoping that someone would make some sort of charge before Rory went out. A shame. Wonder if TV money had a role.

True about the hole placements. I do agree with you about tradition and all that as well. Hopefully the USGA toughen up The Olympic Club next year.

Excellent long putt again, taking advantage of the bit of luck.

21 players under par, its playing like a course setup for a bogstandard PGA event.

If Rory wins it'll be tremendous but the comparisons with the scores of previous winners will be a bit silly. When Tiger was -12 next best was +3.

    Great shot!

The organisers have hurled tradition in the bin in an attempt to make the tournament interesting. What happened to par being a good score at the US Open? A shame

US open 2000, Pebble Beach, Tiger Woods wins by 12 Under.

US Open 2010, Pebble Beach, Graeme McDowell wins with Par.

    Go figure.

I think Yang has shaved every hole for birdie.

Rory misses his putt - solid par.

Spectators getting ahead of themselves there.

Expect polite requests from the stewards to STFU .

At least until the ball is in the air.

I think it might have been that he was 8 shots ahead of Yang who was one shot ahead of Westwood.
