Have you got a hd sub?

might have something to do with it. ?

143 no signal and no bbc1hd on other channels.

I switched on my Freesat TV this morning, switched over the the aformentioned channels and viola it had retuned automatically and if I was an ordinary person I'd be the none the wiser that there was a frequency change.

I also retuned my Technomate box and all is working fine. My existing Sky box BBC One HD tuning still work via "Other Channels" and BBCHD is working fine in the EPG.

If you have Freesat you may need to put your HD box or TV into standby for 30 seconds and then restart to continue to receive the two BBC HD channels. If the channels are still unavailable then carry out a 'freesat channel retune' or a 'first time installation'. Full instructions can be found in the manual for your box or TV. Further help with retuning can be found at www.freesat.co.uk or by calling their customer support team on 08450 990 990.

I am DISGUSTED right now :

I just asked on the Sky Help Forum about this and I got a personal e-mail reply from "Andy" a Sky Knowledge Advisor.

The message doesn't show up in the thread I asked in - He said that due to "NO FORMAL AGREEMENT WITH BBC, THESE CHANNELS CAN NO LONGER BE VIEWED IN IRELAND"

He then stated some total NONSENSE about BBC changing their broadcast parameters so that the "Other Channels" method we use to watch the channels in Ireland is no longer valid.

When I replied to the message and informed him that BBCHD has been on the EPG in Ireland since last Summer, I got blocked from the forum --- I can no longer log in and my posts are no longer there.

Bbc One HD in other channels, and Bbc HD on the EPG are sill working for me. Amstrad Sky + HD box.

Bbc HD on epg no 143 is not working for me. Saying no satellite signal being received.
The same with the two BBC HD channels in "other channels" section.
I have an old thomson box (the one with component and hdmi out)

God, Andy the 'sky knowledge advisor' is one stupid cnut :( Maybe he meant they have not updated all the other SKY HD boxes to break them yet...probably tomorrow.

Hi I have an Edision Argus Mini 2 in 1 Combo Receiver, my BBC HD channels are gone. Can I re tune them in, is my receiver compliant with the new BBC transponder.

Still have them on my Pace SkyHD box.

Still have them on my Sky Pace HD, no problems

Checked my FTA hd box there a while ago. Weak signal on both BBCHD and BBC1HD.
Deleted them both from my list, added a new transponder with the tuning details mentioned here, did a scan and voila, we're back in action. :P

    Curiouser and curiouser.....

I have 2 Bush HD Freesat receivers. One receives Ch4 HD without a problem and the other doesn't, it stutters and freezes when trying to show the channel.

Other forums have suggested that this is because the early Harvard (Bush, Goodmans, Grundig) HD Receivers can't deal with DVB S2. I was always dubious of this as I had tuned in foreign channels using DVB S2, but how and ever...

Well today as we all know, the BBC channels switched to DVB S2 and my early model Bush Freesat HD displays them with out an issue, as does my later model version also.

The only difference between CH4 HD and the BBC HD channels is that Ch4 HD is 1920x1080 and the BBC channels are 1440x1080. It would appear to me, as I suggested many months ago, that the problem is not DVB S2, but more the boxes inability to do 1920x1080.

ITV 1 HD Granada is not broadbcast as DVB S2, but is broadcasted at 1920x1080, and my early Bush receiver cannot display that either without breaking up, yet displays ITV 1 HD Londo without issue, which is broadcasted at 1440x1080.

Anyway, can anyone else back up my findings??

    MJ

Thanks The Cush - nice one, just retuned and lo behold the channels returned.

    Thanks for help

    BBC/Sky have messed up here, surely they can't expect so many of their Sky/Freesat HD customers to do a full re-tune. There's a lot of stuff over on the DS forums on this subject;

    http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=1485227&page=6

They must be aware of what's going on, I would think that changes will be made overnight to rectify the problem, if not then it's Auto Setup or factory reset on my Panny D25 in the morning:(

    still gone here :(

Rang Sky CS yesterday. I told them what the problem was & they sent a signal to activate the channel. I didn't hold out any hope that this would resolve the issue, but checked this morning & BBC HD is back on. I have the original Thompson HD box with component out.

Hmm, wonder would that be the infamous andyk22 who used to get his panties in a twist on DS over Irish access to the PS channels?

Tried this and bbchd is back on 143.

remove bbchd and bbc1hd from the other channels,

and reboot, (unplug and plug in again.)

    back on now.

sky have added the fix to their page.

Have you lost BBC 1 HD from your other channels now?

Will ahve a video up on this tomorrow but one thing we did notice on this is that when tuning BBC 1 HD and BBC HD in on certain boxes, there is a bit of an quirk.......

    http://www.tvtrade.ie/blog/how-to-tune-in-bbc-hd-bbc-1-hd/

Note on some boxes it does not differinate between a symbol rate of 22000 and 23000 and so will not let you add on this new transponder as it seems it as a replica of the existing 10847 frequency. To get around this problem just change the freqrequency to 10846. It will still pick the BBC HD channels but will be seen as a different transponder.
