20 mins ago, the devs of my favourite keyboard have released a beta version of the new SwiftKey app (called SwiftKey X). As well as analysing your SMS messages, it can analyse messages in the cloud (facebook, twitter, gmail etc.) to get a better understanding of your language.

Really superb keyboard - I've been using it for months now.

I`m still in the process of using this and I`m not sure if I like it or not.
As for the analysing part, lol it still feels like any other keyboard, I`ll give another week or so, if its still the same I`ll go back to Swype.

Set up Link2sd last night on my Ace. Very good app, a must on anything with small internal space.

I tried it Roland wasn't over awed. Is Swype still available? I've looked on the Marketplace but couldn't find it.

i'm still using swype now and i can't honestly see how swiftkey could be faster even if it could analyse how i write.

you need to get it from http://beta.swype.com/ as it's not in the market yet afaik.

Slide IT is far far better than Swype, it's around a fiver in the market but well worth it. Much faster for typing even though Swype looks nicer and has more language support.

It came with my Galaxy S II and I wanted to like it :(

The swype that came with packaged in my phone is 23mb fully installed which is ridiculous altogether. That 23mb would make a massive difference to how many apps I could have.

That analyses is a load of balls, I`ve had it for 4 days now and its still like any other keyboard, in fact Gingerbread keyboard would be faster than it.

While typing this I`m back on Swype, it takes me less than half the time to type a sentence on Swype then on Swift X....

I thing I did like about Swift X was that it looked good, pity there`s no themes for Swype on JVH....

I've tried the other keyboards but keep coming back to Swype, nothing else is faster once you get used to it. My wife prefers Swiftkey though, it seems to predict correctly what she wants to type.

Has anyone tried SlideIT keyboard? Better than Swype IMO.

Have tried Swype and SwiftKey and keep coming back to SwiftKey...just like your wife it predicts everything correct 99% of the time for me.

Have that and use it for scheduleing or reminders but I use colournotes for the writing notes and minding my passwords as I can lock them.

I got it about 2-3 weeks ago, while it was listed in the featured apps. The way they try get you to install their other apps for Skill Points is sneaky to say the least. Haven't uninstalled it yet though. :D

Is there an app which will let me listen to BBC radio stations in Ireland on my HTC Desire?

If there is, is there a way of using the radio as an alarm instead of using the stock alarm clock?

Tunein. Connects to loads of stations.
You can set a station as your alarm too.

The income calculator buys the best properties to you depending on your money and gets them for you in one go instead of buying one at a time.

Just saw it on TV earlier and tried it out. I'm quite impressed - provides a lot of useful info based on which direction you're pointing.

Ye I was watching that too! Me da was involved with that Designing Dublin project to find "100 Interesting places in Dublin" so dragged me in to watch it. I liked the app though, and had instantaneously forgotten about it for some reason, so thanks for reminding me!:D
