Dang it! Firstly, I can't even figure out how to thank people for their posts. And, I just had like 5 comps to list and lost my message :confused::confused: So I'm a bit technologically challenged, but I'll just keep trying:

You can only thank ppl once you have a certain number of posts and each post in this thread only counts as one so you will have to go posting in other threads to be able to thank ppl!

And yeah keep trying, looks like you have the hang of it already. Sometimes it's easier just to put one competition in each message.

Thanks! I was just saying that I might do up a couple of pointers I've found useful lately for finding competitions and see if any one else would like to contribute.
I'll write something up later today and post it to see what everyone thinks.

    Colonel

Sounds like a great idea looking forward to reading it :D

    Folks

When you're linking to competitions on other websites, will you bear in mind that these people should be paying Boards.ie for advertising?

We'll be removing links of sites who should be paying for the links. I'm sorry that we have to do this and I'll try and keep the links being removed to a minimum but the fact is other sites are charging for the competitions and earning money for your entries!

If you have any questions, please let me know.

    Darragh

Thanks Darragh. I was unaware this was an issue. Is it just direct linking you would like to avoid, or any mention at all? For example if we were to say "boards[dot]ie" as opposed to "http://www.boards.ie" would it suffice, or is it sending the people there full stop?

    Thanks,
    Colonel
Also, the link to the Facebook group is https://www.facebook.com/home.php?sk=group_216909665003037

Re the competitions, I need to talk to people in here and see what we come up with! For the moment proceed as normal and when I have rules around it, I'll come back to you.

However, there will be competition links we'll have to remove, specifically when the hosting site has been paid to run it.

    No problem Darragh.
You've now been added to the group and are free to look around and post.
Whatever you thing is the best way to proceed in terms of linking, I'm sure you won't get any resistance from the group here.
On this, I'm not very high up on the functionality of the boards, but would it be possible to have a sticky post or notice to come up at the top of each page of the thread showing guidelines on linking, etiquette etc. so that people only coming in late in the thread would have a better idea what to avoid, how to link etc.?

    Thanks,
    colonel

So this will prob lead to the end of this thread as most competitions are linked to websites to enter?:(
