The talent they have is extraordinary. John can pull off the great dance moves and Edward just knows when to come in at the right to get the vocal right and choreographed with the dance move.

What they're doing isn't much different to what the punks did years ago

    Oh yeah...

Sure Jedward combine the musical innovations of Keith Levine, the prose of Mark E. Smith and the DIY attitude of The Ex with the dress sense of a rodeo clown.

Punk, even after it was hijacked by the same mechanism that spat out Jedward, thought a generation how to express themselves with a few chords a well-read mind and not a lot of money.

Jedward can't even string a coherent sentence together, they inspire nothing in others.

How is shouting across presenters and interviewers, jumping around the place ad nauseum, making absolutely no sense through overuse of crap words and speaking in an annoying made-up accent viewed was "decent role models" ?

Better than swearing on live tv, ala most footballers,

Let me put it this way, I support Liverpool FC, and I have a dislike for Man Utd. Utd are all over the sports news recently with winning the league and being in the Champions League final. To combat this I change the station or turn the page in the rag. Most newspapers have more than 1 page and even basic TV is more than 2 stations.

Also, even joking, asking / hoping for someone to Die cause you don't like them is a bit low life...

Man starts thread wishing 2 young fellas were dead, then takes offence when people imply he is a miserable c*nt.
    shocker.

Firstly, love them or loathe them (I'm in the latter group) Utd have talent.

Secondly, no-one's forcing Utd down your throat claiming that they're "great role models" despite being the most annoying crap on the planet.

Thirdly, no-one's deluding themselves that your lack of support for Utd is based on begrudgery and shouting you down to force that opinion down your throat

Fourthly, I did change channel today from Today FM when the prats came on, only to be greeted with a similar discussion about them (thankfully minus them, but about them nonetheless) on 4FM, and when I sighed and changed to the local station, they were discussing them there too. So your analogy is completely flawed as I had to just switch off the radio.

Part of the point here is that Jedward have been practically inescapable for the last week or so.

    I haven't noticed much.

I expected better from you orourkeda.

    I didn't expect you'd take it literally.

Because they have absolutley no discernible talent whatsoever.

Actually they have bucket loads of talent, that is to exploit millions of euros out of people who they know buy in to this kind of hype and entertainment.

My guess is they are laughing at all those who speak bad of them.

If I got paid a few thousand euros for hopping around a stage singing the Ghostbuster theme tune I would be a very happy man.

Good on them, making a go of it in the recession!

Begrudgery: Can people learn what it means before they start using it?

It has very little to do with them, if anything at all. The puppet-masters who are pushing them in the music business are the ones behind all of what you mentioned above. Their 'act' will get old fast and they will be tossed aside like so many others by the same people professing to be their friends and mentors etc now.

All I'm saying is, I've listened to their album, I tuned in last night to watch their performance and I've heard them on the radio. Musically, they aren't the best (I'm the sorta guy who listens to Neutral Milk Hotel and Doug Burr so... you know... to say they're not the personification of musical blasphemy is a pretty big step but what really steps these kids apart is how they treat their fans. They respect them; they appreciate that they wouldn't be anywhere without them; they remember them. A girl called into that radio show and she was talking to them about an event they did two weeks before the radio show where she talked to them for five minutes and they were able to reminisce about it - they didn't forget it. They treat their fans better than 99% of artists out there and that's nearly as important as the music.

Don't forget that if you were stuck outside on a rainy day and you needed a lift home, Jedward would sooner pick you up than a lot of other people out there. They might act like seven year olds and they mightn't be able to sing the best (who is???) but they've got hearts of gold for sure.
