Do you find really thin/skinny women attractive or a turn off?

Big boobs can be responsive. ;)
I mean responsive is whats important, not size/mass/ cubic feet!!

    I concur! :D
I have to say being too skinny can be unattractive.

Depends on the girl I suppose.

I think this is a key point. Skinny (or slender, to be less derogatory) can look great on a woman IF it's natural for her frame. But if she's starving herself, it can look dreadful.

See, I've heard of other research that says wearing a bra doesn't help at all!

I read that too before actually in The Ladies Lounge I think it was.
Someone wrote that because the breasts are constantly being supported by a bra, that the muscles that keep breasts pert are inactive and eventually become slack as they are not being used. So that when the bra is off for awhile, they droop because the muscles are no longer strong enough to keep them lifted.
I have a very large bust and always wear a bra, lucky enough with pertness so far though [probably because I'm young], will have to continue to wear good bras, but for the future I'm definitely going to look into some of those chest exercises that are good for those "boob lifting" muscles.:)

BWas with a girl who would climax through nipple stimulation alone.

    So she said.

The nipples have a direct line to the happy place for a lot of gals though! :pac:

I'd prefer each one of them when they were skinny myself. Nigella Lawson in particular, with her I'd personally use the above "H" word and would not like to see her naked in anything like bright light.

Ah yeah, I mean - the body on Mariah in 'Vision Of Love' years was hawt and Zeta Jones in Darling Buds was smokin but what I mean is there are some women (and men too) that can 'do' excess weight and some that can't.

You may not want to see Nigella naked as it wouldn't appeal, but I can guarantee you, you'd rather see Nigella naked than you would like to see Kate Moss carrying a similar weight, as I get the impression that she (or similar girls with her frame) could not carry much excess weight well at all.

I go to UCD and honestly, have never seen so many women who look underweight in my life on a daily basis. There are loads of slim girls, yes, but you're well able to tell when they are naturally slim or naturally have little curves. Some of these girls just look very unhealthy, which is kind of sad.

I am one of those evil women who loves a good 'she needs a sandwich' remark when I see someone with a ridiculously thin body, simply to make myself feel better. It doesn't really work but anyway..:P

I'll be happy with myself when I'm a toned size 12 as I know that's what I should be.

OP, If you know you're at the right weight and are looking after yourself, I'm sure your body is great and you've nothing to worry about.

It's all down to personal preference.

Am I only the male that's lost when it comes to understanding what these women's sizes actually represent?

    Size 10? Size 12?

It's not something I've asked a woman, ever.

I've spent the entire thread sagely nodding my head, but I really haven't a clue what those sizes mean.

This is a link to show pictures of different sizes in girls which will give you a general idea.
    http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/the-figures-are-in-and-they-reveal-that-given-the-choice-most-men-will-plump-for-a-curvy-girl/2008/04/05/1207249548553.html

One of the big problems with this though, is that I have met many girls who are a lot bigger then the size 14 girl in that picture but will claim to be a size 12. So yes the numbers are confusing and then when girls lie about the numbers, it gets even more confusing.

my mental images for each have been way off and pretty much every girl who has ever told me they were a twelve was lieing and it appears they must be at least 16-18 no wonder I have no idea what the sizes mean women lie

if thats correct size 14 is fine i imagine there are some smoking hot size 14s size 12 looks perfect for my tastes and size 8 looks on the skinny side for me but still gorgeous

Trying to use sizing as a guide for whether a girl is skinny or fat is folly, despite the media's claims. As OutlawPete quite rightly points out, it all about the frame - the woman's natural height and width.

Generally speaking, a taller woman who is of a healthy weight will require larger sizes than a smaller woman of a healthy weight.

So a 5-foot scratch girl could be a heifer at size 12, and a 6 foot 4 girl could be an absolute supermodel knockout at size 16.

Yet the media tend to push these sizes as absolutes so the six foot girl who looks fantastic at size 14 is made to feel bad about herself because the media are saying she should be the size 8 of a skinny 5'2" actress.

    Ok.

No offence to the attractive girl on the right, but is it some sort of exponential scale?

    Eh what? :D

actually they may not be lying at all - the clothes sizes vary dramatically from shop to shop, and you can be a size 10 in one shop and a 16 in another. Plus some stores have admitted to making their sizes more generous (Marks and Spencer for example) to accomodate the increasing average size of women without losing business.

I'm inclined to a bit of curves, myself but each to their own.

well to wear that dress, you'd have to be thin. That particular dress wouldn't look aswell on a bigger girl.

My current GF is thin but not skinny. There's a difference methinks.

    Eh what? :D

There doesn't seem much of a jump between the girls sized 8 and 12, but there's a fairly noticable difference between the lady sized 12 and the woman on the right, the 14.

The 12 is more like a 10 and the 14 is a 12 looking at that pic I'd say

Personally I think its just down to how a person carries their weight.

I remember reading before that Kelly Brooke weighs around 8.5 stone which is a lot lower than the weight of the average Irish female but she carrys her "fat" in all the right places therefore making her curvy. From what I've seen most men are attracted to slim curvy women, healthy looking but slim.

Yep, some people are just naturally thin. I think it is easy to tell the difference between a woman who is naturally thin and one who half starves themselves to be thin.

I would actually think the 10 and 12 look right but the 14 is really about 16 to 18.

That's really true, I tried to explain the significance of fitting into a size 8 from H&M to my boyfriend and he didn't have a clue what I was talking about.

I would say that in general Irish men prefer heavier women than say Italian men, or French men

I doubt it, its probably just the fact that with 65 % of Irish people being overweight, one has to take whats going.
