Do you find really thin/skinny women attractive or a turn off?

Just wondering...all you lovely guys and ladies here.
So many women, myself included, try so hard to maintain a good body... Hope I have the body to wear dress like this.
And lately, I'm finding myself wanting to be even thinner than I already am, and dieting accordingly. I keep seeing all these tiny girls wandering around and their clothes just look so GOOD on them...then
I look at me and see yes, a slim girl, but...not slim ENOUGH.
But do you people find these ultra thin girls attractive? Are we just dieting to look too thin and nobody likes it? lol
PS. Be honest. I expect quite a few of you to prefer slightly more curves on a gal, but if some of you really do like the thinner ones, I want honesty even if you think it won't sound good or "supportive of natural women" or something. lol.

definitely curvier girls are way more attractive i think curvy but toned! Im a size 6 and i hate it i can never find anything to fit me and feel like a 12 year old boy!!

Its not so much the thiness or fatness its the shape. If you have the right curves in the right places thats what matters imo.

E.G Jessica Alba, Holly whilloby, Caroline Morahan, Anna Friel etc. None of them are the same size but they are all very attractive women.

By really thin do you mean like Kiera Knightley?
I get the impression most people find her too skinny.

Skinny is totally unattractive. Amazons FTW; failing that, at least some curves.

Plenty are, but sure everyone's entitled to their opinion and there's guys who love it. You'll generally find that women who have physiques like that are quite happy to sacrifice the odd "I'd hit it" for the sake of their sport though ;)

OP there is no real pleasing everyone. go for what you want. though these days it is hard to work that out, cause of all the models etc in your face all the time. magazines are full of things to make you feel bad about yourself so you'll buy products. I think if you just take care of yourself, and try to stay healthy enough, whatever else happens happens. of course I don't mean to say i'm 100% happy with my own shape. but as this thread will probably go to prove men have different opinions as to what they like and there's no point trying to conform to what's 'the norm'.

It'd be my opinion that the girl in that link is a little too skinny. i wouldn't find her attractive for that reason.

sollar makes a good point about where the "curves" are. Me? Much prefer thin, size 6/8 before 16 all things being equal. So someone like say Holly willoughby who has a gorgeous face, for me has gone a bit wide below the neck. I preferred her skinny. Ditto with Nigella Lawson.

That said OP I'm defo unusual, especially in Ireland. My fellow Irish men seem to prefer a bigger woman and big bewbs are almost a legal requirement. :D

I think the biggest turn off for blokes are women who never stop wittering on about their weight or diet. That gets old real quick.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.

yes this is i think what i was getting at. being happy with what you have is much more attractive than fitting to what other people think you should have.

Not me. The athletic body shape does appeal to me.

Well I dunno, in the flesh she's not gonna be a big girl by any means. But the heifer/thick hocked heavy look really doesnt appeal to me. Of course where that line starts is down to the guy.

You gots to have a bit of meat on them bones, woman. Stick thin women don't do anything for me, but I wouldn't write a girl off because of it.

And Kiera Knightley is just an ironing board with a face :pac:

You are aware that she's been pregnant for the last nine months, right? :)

    Mmmm...Holly Willoughbooby.

Holly has the perfect female form. In practically every way. If you want to know what men like in terms of size, just look at her.

I can picture a size 12 i think and i know a size 8 is probably what i picture in my head when i think of the perfect body but other then that it dosnt mean much to me

Its just inches measurement, not very accurate thou. You could go shopping and buy 10 things all in different sizes. Depends on the shop and the body type they use.

being honest fat out of shape women do not appeal to me, i'm attracted to slim girls that are in good shape.
A lot of women are bloated in ireland due to bad diets and too much drinking but they seem to justify it to themselves by saying they are curvy and certain men pander to this (love at bit of mean on the bone brigade)

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 12,456 ✭✭✭✭Mr Benevolent

Thin women always look like they'd fly apart in a high wind. They're not for me.

there is definitely such a thing as curvy but most women that say they are curvy are just fat imo and thats fine if they are happy with their body i dont have a problem with that at all but if they are always talking about losing weight or dieting it annoys me, either stop being lazy and get the body you want or stop talking about it and be happy how you are

I've been with my missus for 12 years. She was a size 10 when we met, she is a 16 now. For me, it was a marked improvement. Doesn't mean I didn't fancy her when she was a 10.

it depends on your body shape

on another note, why do women have "wedding size" lose a ton of weight for the wedding day and then just give up and end up a overweight in a years time??? I always find that funny.

Not into heavy preggers women myself. But each to their own.

I wouldn't be interested in the likes of Holly, or Caroline, or any euphemistically called curvy woman - I'd have to hide my chips and cake.

Slim and healthy. Healthy is most important. Knightley doesn't look healthy. The girl in the OP's link does, however, and looks great.

Yeah, but men who say that usually mean women with a body like Kelly Brook or Kim Kardashian - slim with curves in the right places.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 27,252 ✭✭✭✭stovelid

Depends on the woman. I definitely tend toward curvier types but you can't state with certainly what and who you find attractive - it just happens - and that often includes women that are slimmer or bigger than your "usual" type.

 I was that size for years before we married - didn`t lose weighgt for the wedding. I had been big before and gradually lost weight. My weight gain was related to ill health both times and my husband is just relieved when I`m well again the added bonus is I go back to my proper weight. And he wouldn`t have an afair because he isn`t a jerk, if he had an issue he would address it with me - his wife.

The shape I'd personally aspire to would be the slim with curves one, but some very slender women, e.g. Kidman and Pfeiffer, look amazing. And some "heavier" women, e.g. Holly Willoughby, also do.

Extremes at either end of the spectrum are unattractive, IMO.
