By really thin do you mean like Kiera Knightley?
I get the impression most people find her too skinny.

The likes of Mischa Barton and Keira Knightley are far, far too thin and it's actually horrible looking.
But some 'thin' girls that do look great like Jessica Biel, but that's because she's not unhealthily skinny. She's lean and toned.

Skinny and no definition = usually a turn off.
Kinda skinny but toned* = nice.
Average build with curves in the right places = nice.

*I'm not talking about 6 packs and biceps here, just any form of muscle definition to show that the girl is healthy and hasn't just starved herself to be that skinny.

Men, just like women, will usually say that they go for a different type of woman than they actually go for.

Few Western men go for overweight women, but if asked they will often say "Ew, skinny women, dont find them attractive" , and post a picture of what they think is a 'curvy' woman: Usually their idea of curvy is actually a very slim woman, who by some accident of nature (or surgery) has big boobs and or a big ass. Generally speaking , Western Men like women as skinny as they can possibly be without actually being unhealthy/sick or fragile looking.

Many African men, and some Indians, on the other hand, do actually like their women big and chunky - this is largely a socio-cultural thing: Us Western guys used to like curvy women, as being moderately overweight was a sign of status and luxury, in Africa and India this would still be the case for many.

    Pretty sure that's bullsh!t..

That would pretty much go against her entire 'thing' at the moment.

She, allegedly, represents 'real women' so she'd hardly get that moniker if she had fake baps.

Mischa Barton isn't these days. She's a much more healthy weight now.

Caroline Morahan's a bit of a heifer in fairness.........

    A "heifer"?? Good lord.

Overweight is a funny one though as some girls remain curvy when they put on weight, someone like Nigella Lawson, Mariah Carey, Caroline Morahan () Catherine Zeta Jones etc suit their weight and their are some girls (men too) who just can't put on any weight as it just all hangs off them.

I do prefer slim girls though, but not so you can see their ribcage.

To the poster who said her boyfriend likes "normal" girls, I would say the same. What I would mean by that (and would say he does also) is just not abnormally thin or abnormally overweight: normal - or maybe average is a better word.

So, when's the male equivalent of this thread gonna be started then? :p

I prefer to be a slim woman, hated every moment of being overweight. Going against the "real women" sistahood here!:pac:

I've seen that pic - she clearly weighs a lot more now. I still think they look a bit odd nowadays though.

Back when she was in things like Firefly and stuff, she was much slimmer than now and she was still fairly busty without drawing attention to it.

And now that she's a little heavier than before, literally everything she wears seems to be designed to draw attention to her chest.

Let's say the jury is out though - we're talking about Hollywood after all!

Personally I don't see the attraction to the Kiera Knightly type body. What's the appeal to a girl who has the body of a prepubescent teenage boy?? Give me shakira or Eva Mendes any day, ohh lord

It's such nonsense - I doubt a lot of overweight women appreciate being so patronised.

That has NOT been my experience of men. :pac:
I do think it seems most (I said "most" now, not "all") men love an ample (but not udder-like) rack and are not just saying it. Why the "bum man or boob man" thing anyway? I'm sure lots of men enjoy both. :pac:

Yes exactly - curvy. E.g. Scarlett Johansson is curvy - sure, she's slim, but she's still got boobs and a curvy ass. I don't see how a preference for a woman with that build negates their claims that they don't find skinny attractive. The likes of Scarlett J isn't skinny - Kate Moss and Jodie Kidd are skinny.
Generally speaking , Western Men like women as skinny as they can possibly be without actually being unhealthy/sick or fragile looking.
I don't believe that for a second - from what I've observed anyway, most men prefer slim, absolutely, but with boobs and/or shapely arse. That's not the same as "skinny as they can possibly be without actually being unhealthy/sick or fragile looking".

Yup, some women who put on weight look curvy because the weight distributes evenly and doesn't go onto the no-go areas, other women who put on weight just look fat (I'm not trying to be harsh as I'd happily admit I'm a member of the second category - excess weight does not suit me at all, apart from on the boobs/ass).

Good lord, nothing anti-sisterhood about that - can't imagine any woman actually wanting to be overweight (significantly so anyway).

It really is down to individual preference imo.

I know a guy mate of mine whose 'thing' is skinny girls. See a girl who's ironing board thin and thats his type, regardless of hair colour or anything else. It just does it for him.

Then theres my boyfriend who hates it when I lose too much weight for fear of me losing my 'ghetto booty' (I vary between a size 6-10).

I have another friend whose mad about massive boobs and goes for size 14-16 girls all the time, anyone under that would be waaay too skinny for him

I dont think any guy OR girl likes the same thing and what they do like varies massively on a lot of factors. I love my figure 99% of the time, but when Im out dancing and my friends are out in low cut dresses with ample cleavage, do I love my lil ones? Not so much. But when im topless and theyre perky, I know what Id prefer :D

    Kinda.
Few Western men go for overweight women,
I would disagree. Looking at various mates and mates of mates of mine and removing the ones who go for what they can get, a fair chunk of the ones with choices like heavier set women. Not obese(except for one guy), but 14/16 type size. Then another lot would go for 12's. Very few would go for size 8's. Along with just one other mate I would would be the rarity in preferring size 8's. And like I say these aren't guys with no choice but to take what they can get.
Another but if asked they will often say "Ew, skinny women, dont find them attractive" , and post a picture of what they think is a 'curvy' woman: Usually their idea of curvy is actually a very slim woman, who by some accident of nature (or surgery) has big boobs and or a big ass.
This I would agree with 100%. Media "curvy" is such BS it's not funny. Never mind photoshop, many of these women(or their agents) who claim they're size tens or twelves are playing fast and loose with the truth. I've seen some of these "curvy" women in the flesh and no way are they the size some of them claim. So called 10's are more like 8's and 8's more like 6's. or 4's
Many African men, and some Indians, on the other hand, do actually like their women big and chunky - this is largely a socio-cultural thing: Us Western guys used to like curvy women, as being moderately overweight was a sign of status and luxury, in Africa and India this would still be the case for many.
I dunno. I would disagree in the details. IE poor western guys would like fatter women because of the higher chance of food shortage. It was a sign of status to the dirt poor. The rich had no such worries so tended to go for thinner. That goes way back. Today we're all "rich" so that preference for thin is more widespread. I would say that in general Irish men prefer heavier women than say Italian men, or French men. Especially young men and women. Maybe it's springing from kinda the same socio cultural thing? That the majority of Irish a few generations ago were poor?

Yes but that "eye" is very much influenced by your culture.

I'd prefer each one of them when they were skinny myself. Nigella Lawson in particular, with her I'd personally use the above "H" word and would not like to see her naked in anything like bright light.

Many worry about Artificial Intelligence. I worry far more about Organic Idiocy.

You think its a socio-cultural thing. Dont think the male penis cares much for that.

But then there's the other incorrect use of the word "curvy". In my opinion, shapely is curvy - and that could be a very petite woman, but if she's got shapely hips, boobs, ass, and legs that taper, she's curvy. A size six woman could have those.

Please don't let this be true. Those boobs and that waist form the basis of my epic girl crush on her.

Funny thing is though, as gorgeous as I find that woman and completely respect how confident she is being that shape and size I personally would like to look like that myself. Weird?

Yeah, Nigella is definitely overweight now. A few years ago, no, but now? Yes. Her hubbie had to stop eating her food, it was so gluttonous! :D

See, I've heard of other research that says wearing a bra doesn't help at all!

Big boobs can be fun and all but the best type of boob is a responsive one. Was with a girl who would climax through nipple stimulation alone.

And for me a sexy ass and curvy hips is just the absolute bomb!!! :P

I'd have my doubts - although wearing a bra isn't going to prevent some sagging, especially if they're big. But I saw a woman once on some breast programme (not a pervy one, a boring health one) with big knockers who hadn't worn a bra for six years, and got them out (why would you do that?!) and they were literally down to her knees.

I've heeded the "bra as much as possible" advice and it's served me well. It's sore anyway not to wear one unless they're really small.

I have to say being too skinny can be unattractive.

Depends on the girl I suppose.
