It's a lovely place to walk round when its sunny. Think it's my favourite part of Limerick.

Why do I always leave projects until the last minute...

And then spend most of my time on the interweb avoiding the damn thing!

Anyone else try and get their free sub over the past 3 weeks at Subway using points on the Subcard. Been told every day I go up there that the scanner isn't working. Although, they can still scan your card and add points to it.

I'd say they're just too cheap to honour the free subs...

The new purchase points are not being added either, checked my account and points have not been update since 15th Feb.. and I have been at least 3 times in March.

Same here, I had amazingly good intentions this semester too, it being my 5th and final year.
Flash forward 10 weeks and I'm typing 6 page essay at 3am, 24hrs ago I was programming until 5.

They tend to creep up on you, those sneaky projects. 4 bottlenecked into this weekend. I've decided to reduce sleeping to 4 nights a week to compensate.

The lecturers, the vast majority of them, are down to earth. If i had any favourites, it would be Pat o'Connor (geographer) and Luke Ashworth...very affable guy. At our final lecture next week, my mate and i plan to give him a standing ovation :P, what do ye think?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,200 ✭✭✭Mindkiller

I think you and your mate are setting yourself up for a very awkward situation if no-one else stands up :p

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 272 ✭✭mulner92

Maybe so, otherwise just give him a handshake at the end and wish him well, we'll see about the ovation, maybe get more people. He's a great guy, even agreed to be my referee so i'd have a chance of doing the orientation guide thing.

i know this is said to death on this..but i swear to god if i wasn't sure that a brutal triple murder in the library would probably make all this study I'm doing worth zilch i would kill the b*****ds having a full blown conversation for the last 15 mins a row ahead of me.
Its a library..shut the fúck up
Especially since the security came over and shushed the lad talking to the guy beside me 30 seconds after he came up (and he was at least whispering) yet aren't doing a thing bout this

Really hate when i find a free space in the venus labs and some lad hunts me out of the room because its a lab. If he told me to go to the end of the room, fair enough, but its not like i have any interest in disturbing his class

Funny the amount of people who don't come to lectures but suddenly appear out of the blue in week 12 when an assignment is due, i was decent enough at going to them, not perfect by any means, but Pat O'Connor remembered me, so hopefully he'll let me pass this module. :D Heard he's retiring later this year, pity he's a legend.

Came in to UL library this morning, big sign up saying you needed to produce your library card at the hatch before going in. Delighted I was, about time. I go over, the man says "ah no, just call out the number there love", and once I was three digits in "go on in there you're grand". Sign abandoned completely by 2ish, and the place packed with UCC and Trinity heads. Why even bother?? ALso, SHUT UP FFS IT IS A LIBRARY

i think this could all be solved with swipe access to the library like they have in Mary I also it mite be an idea to extend the opening times of the library for the next few week with the exams coming up but we all know that's never going to happen like

We're getting swipe in the next few (2?) years apparently. Tbh, there's no point in extending the opening hours when the main building is 24hrs. Although, It would be nice if they left some of the tutorial rooms open!!

I presume they're locked so people don't sleep there?

    What a legend idea.

4 years here and I've never thought of that.
