Skinny or curvy, I think a lot has to do with how you carry yourself and what you wear to complement your frame..

I think the word curvy has been hijacked a little lately by overweight people. Curvy means curvy as in kelly brook, holly Willoughby etc and not round as in heather from eastenders... sorry heather :D

Yea i definitely hear this! I've an ex who ballooned 2-3 stone after we split who thinks she's just gotten curvy and filled her "natural shape". Horse**** and excuses which seems to be alot more popular in Irish girls than other european girls!

The real key is - Curvy is fine, Athletic/Toned is better!

Girls- Your not curvy if you have a gut/beer belly, your just fat! - FACT!!

Yeah it's already been said. At the same time, I think it's a bit harsh to refer to women with a shape like Caroline Morahan as a bit of a heifer.

Exactly, it's like 'curvy' is the new politically correct term for 'fat'.

Also them soap ads where they have 'real' models are just a cynical marketing ploy to make fat women feel good about themselves. as if the regular kind of models aren't 'real' women!

"but they're airbrushed!" you say. well putting on make-up and eyeliner could be considered 'image manipulation' also.

Dress size means nothing its all about the shape and how one carries it. Wearing the right clothes that fit and complement your shape.

    However when naked...

I am naturally a size 12-14 at this size I believe I look good I have curves and toned in all the right places.

Once I go to size 16-18 which I now am after having my last child I am obviously carrying extra weight and need alot of toning. Now some women size 16 look hot maybe cos they are taller or well toned. For me I am not happy with this size as I look bloated and stumpy and my boobs are humongous making it even harder to get good clothes!

However once I did slim down to a size 10 just for the sake of being size 10. I didnt like it I was too toned and muscled.. had that sport look I guess my curves were now bone and although it was great to fit in to nice size 10 I didn't like myself naked. This weight would be my recommended weight for my height. For me though I would have probems finding tops again cos of my boobs.

I notice there's delight on this thread when a guy says really thin women are a complete turn-off, but not so much when a guy says really overweight women are a complete turn-off. I think it's really sh1tty that it's ok to insult very thin women (just as I think it's really sh1tty to insult very overweight women). Some really thin women are not "anorexic", they're just really thin, and it's not exactly fun for them when there's a culture of it being ok to say they're hideous.

It's hardly insulting to tell the truth about what you find atttractive surely?

How are thin women not real women? I'm a thin women and last time I checked, I was real
Biggest turn off tbh is people who actually believe in all this gendered body type bull****

Exactly. I hate that "real man/woman" line that people say. Thankfully, most men will never say it, and you would never hear it in the media when talking about women as it sounds really stupid.

Can't say the same for women though, it would be a lot more prevalent for women to describe a man as a "real" man and you see it in TV and magazines a lot more. So blame your fellow sex for making the term common.

I envy really thin size 6-8 women (both their bodies and will power to maintain that size!) ;p

I'm a size 12 but feel inferior and have a 'thinner is better' mentality.

I have asked my boyfriend what he finds attractive, but I think he is afraid to answer honestly as his standard response is 'I like normal size women'.

    Wtf is normal size???

hold on there a sec the OP asked a question asking do you find ultra skinny women a turn off and I answered back "yes" I like "real body shapes" not Women who have bodies of 14 year old boys, never said anything about unnaturally skinny women being not "real" I just don't find them attractive

thats my opinion nothing to do with "gendered body types"

so if you want a look-in with me, have a few dinners for yourself :pac:

    That is a disgusting ass.

It's been said before, but I'll repeat.

    Curvy:

    http://louisemcsharry.files.wordpress.com/2010/05/kelly-brook.jpg

Eating 6 packet of meanies a week with "the odd chipper" and the weekend boozing thrown in does not get you this body.

If you do that, you are fat. Not curvy.

How would you react if he said he likes size zero? Would you appreciate his honesty or throw a strop :)

Dunno. My boyfriend told me I was "his size" when we met. I didn't know what he meant for a while, but now I know he means size 6-8. By the way, not everyone needs to work hard to maintain their weight. Everytime I eat an apple I get someone telling me "you're so good!" No, I just like goddamn apples more than chocolate bars

    Naturally slender = good
    Unnaturally slender =/= good

    Simple! :)

If she looks good in her shape, it dosnt matter.

Personally, nice bum > big bewbs.

If shes got a nice face and nice bum (bum can be big n round or tiny, as long as it gets me sprung) its all good.

I honestly could not give a shoite about the size of a girls bewbs

I would genuinely appreciate honesty instead of a generic response he thinks I want to hear.

Its his opinion and he is entitled to it.

Obviously he finds me attractive because he chose to be with me so it won't make me insecure to hear him say he likes thinner women. :p

Just wondering...all you lovely guys and ladies here.
So many women, myself included, try so hard to maintain a good body... Hope I have the body to wear dress like this.
And lately, I'm finding myself wanting to be even thinner than I already am, and dieting accordingly. I keep seeing all these tiny girls wandering around and their clothes just look so GOOD on them...then
I look at me and see yes, a slim girl, but...not slim ENOUGH.
But do you people find these ultra thin girls attractive? Are we just dieting to look too thin and nobody likes it? lol
PS. Be honest. I expect quite a few of you to prefer slightly more curves on a gal, but if some of you really do like the thinner ones, I want honesty even if you think it won't sound good or "supportive of natural women" or something. lol.

When you are as good looking as I am you don't want to be seen with "big-boned" females. I prefer skinny ones.

I was sitting at a table beside her in a restaurant a while ago and she's utterly gorgeous, that natural radiating beauty type look. And she seemed like a cracking girl too, no airs and graces about her.

There's a picture of her in this mornings' Metro Herald and she looks a size 10ish alright.

As if I would dare to interrupt his football time with conversation  ;p

He actually raised the subject by commenting on a picture of a woman who had recently gained weight

on another note, why do women have "wedding size" lose a ton of weight for the wedding day and then just give up and end up a overweight in a years time??? I always find that funny.

That's true, why don't brides-to-be try and lose the weight more slowly, then it has more chance of staying off once they're married, instead of this crash-dieting nonsense? Crazy bridezillas! :pac:

I saw her on a train a few years back. At the time she was a pretty-in-the-face, dumpy, short brown yoke.

    Not my type at all.

Depressing that a tallish size 10 (we assume) woman got called a heifer. And that post got thanked too. :(
