There are no sufficient words of condemnation
Agreed. Perhaps this will move some parties in NI to stop spouting empty words and to actually help catch the terrorists. I'm not holding my breath though.

What exactly is the point of this? What type of political statement does it make, if any? Just why?

Fcuk the political statement. Looking for one of those only adds weight to the actions of these scummers.

Why are people linking dissidents with Sinn Féin ?

    Some people haven't a clue.

I fear they'll never catch them all. Whilst there is a small minority to spout this ridiculous so called cause, or what ever you want to call it, to people people stupid enough to listen and take it on, we will always have this.

I used to think the future generations even the currnet, would only know about these acts of violence in their history books, unfortunatly there will always seem to be those intent on never letting go of something, for some of them was long long before they were born.

    :(

Yeah, let's pretend that if this was happening in the 90's, the Shinners wouldn't have been defending it as part of 'the war' instead of condemning it now that they are drawing salaries from the British state.

Some people don't have a clue.

    That's absolutely horrific.... :(

Disgrace, was probably a catholic police man too. Targeting him because he was catholic, disgrace.

May the bastards who planted this bomb and all who condone it rot in whatever hell has to offer.

RIP to the victim of this cowardly attack.

Condolences to his family and let them know they have the sympathy of the vast, vast majority of people on this island.

If it was 1920 we would all be cheering it on, different times.

    :(

Unfortunately so, although things are much improved i fear there will always be a destructive element in NI. Personally i am a catholic and feel that integration is slowly succeeding. I have many friends on both sides of the spectrum and this is the case with most of us.
Stuff like this makes me depressed, i have 2 friends working in omagh in the police and both are catholic. my brother is in the royal irish and my dad is an ex cop.
Condolences to this guys family, a waste of a young mans life for nothing

Exactly, would be nice if this wasn't used as yet another excuse for a Sinn Féin bashing thread.

    RIP.

Oh brilliant, this is all we need now.
****ing dissidents are goddamn cave dwellers; the only people happy with this tragedy are the Sindo staff.

I wasn't around in 1920. I was around in the 1990s, and I was disgusted by this type of murder while Gerry Adams was still organising them. I don't know how you can convincingly condemn someone else for doing the exact same thing that you felt was acceptable when you were doing it.

I don't want to misrepresent what you are saying, so please correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like you are arguing that murdering someone like this in the 90s was fine, but now its not acceptable. I just can't agree with that.

Very sad to hear this. It just makes me stand up and make the blood boil. I hope for calm. I would urge no reactions to this from loyalists.

That's a somewhat bizarre statement. Would you prefer if SF were still condoning attacks like this just because they may have in the past?

Can't believe dissidants are so stupid as to attack in omagh again. They are a bunch of neanderthals.

They need to be made to go away with whatever means possible.

I try not to judge, something you should consider when posting to a forum full of people you know nothing about.
