Juicedefender - only one worth its salt

Juice defender with ultimate juice v3.1.0beta seems to be amazing if its battery calculator is correct. It is constantly at x5 or above, even when used with wifi. It's beta though so it may not be correct.

Is there a widget that gives a time value for battery charge remaing?

Had some great recommendations from posters on here. Im using an Archos 101 tablet and id love to find a few apps for:

    - Listening to streaming music
    - Realtime football scores
    - Emulator for old school games (SNES, Megadrive etc)

Im not even sure if its possible to get an emulator working on the tablet but just said id ask anyway. Cheers.

Anyone know if a good app for syncing a music folder from pc to my phone and vice versa. I have doubletwist but its dog slow, looking for something simple that works. Any recomendation for a simple file transfer app with sync?

Winamp is supposed to have a syncing feature. I haven't used that aspect myself but as a music player winamp is great.

FBReader is a very tidy eBook app. Just find the books you want, I find epub format works well and put the in the folder named Books on your sd card and they will automatically be added. Books can then be arranged automatically by either Author or Title or Tags. At first it looks like a horrible reader but just change the background to white in settings and the ugly backing disappears. I originally tried both Kobo and Laputa and found this the best for its ability to add and arrange books automatically (missing from Laputa free) and its ability to add cover art itself.

    1. Winamp or Tunewiki

    2. Fot Mob

    3. Snesoid and Gensoid

Just search around the market and/or google a bit.

I have no clue how this works

Go to the Market icon in the list of pre installed apps.
You can browse the apps there.

Has your friend set up a gmail account yet?
If they have, surf to https://market.android.com/ and login with teh same account.
browse the market here and when you find an app that you like, click on install and this shoulod push the app to the phone through the data connection.

Best bet is to find a wifi area, connect to it with the phone (settings>wireless networks>wifi) and go through Android Market. This should definitely be a pre-installed app under an icon like this:
    market_icon.png
In market you can browse by popularity or catagory or enter custom searches.

    Hi all,

I can't find a music player which will allow me to create a playlist and tag songs to be included on the playlist. alternatively I'd be happy to sort my MP3 files into folders and have each folder recognised as a playlist.

I've tried Mixzing and Miui Music without success.

    Ben

    I think PowerAmp supports playlists.

Okay, I have a friend who is currently in Bulgaria and is wanting to listen to an Irish radio station through her phone.

Is there any apps that you can download which would allow you to listen to Irish radio stations without being connected to the internet?

TuneIn Radio will allow you to listen to Irish radio stations on your phone but you have to be connected to the internet to use it.

Unless youre listening to Podcasts thats physically impossible unless the station is being transmitted over there via FM.
TuneIn as mentioned above is the best way but does use data

Thanks for the replies. That's no problem, I was 99% sure you couldn't do this, but I just decided to ask anyhow.

Anyone knows if there is an app like network magic? So you can see what devices are online on your home network?
