They will get a lot of sympathy votes from the people that are sick of the current Government, and let’s face it folks what party IS there that can run this country?

I’m sick to death of saying it but we need business people to run this country as a company and not in the present manner of a self gaining and self gratifying handy number…….
I've been saying this for years Irish Fire! But I'm afraid we may as well be talking to the wall! It makes complete sense which is reason enough for it never to happen. Wouldn't it make complete sense for somebody like Michael O'Leary (I know, I know - not everybody would agree on that one) to be our Minister for Tourism? There are many great medical professionals out there who could finally do something positive about our ever-failing health system.. How can anybody without experience in a particular field say that they are able to oversee the running of it on a national scale?

I'm glad someone agrees with me, I was waiting for the S.F. backlash :)

I think Michael O'Leary would be wasted on tourism, I think his energy would be better spent on finance.... now that would rattle cages :)

To be honest Irish people have a short memory..... F.F. will loose power now but two elections from now they'll be back in power..... lets face it if you asked to most of the current "pro" S.F. people 5 years ago would they vote for S.F.?? They'd have laughed at you and come back with the line "ME vote for the political wing of the ..., I don't bloody think so......." thus proving Irish people have a short memory.

I'm still crying over the loss of George Lee - if FG get in, he would have been a marvellous Finance Minister.. :)
Unlike many others who choose to forget, I will never forget what happened to Mrs McConville - SF will never get my vote, as long as I live..

Well one thing is for certain, Sinn Fein will be in opposition in the next Dail because all the mainstream parties have said they wouldn't touch them with a bomb disposal robot.

In opposition they won't put the country first. They will oppose everything unpopular and be in favour of anything popular. They will put the electoral prospects of Sinn Fein first, instead of making hard decsions they will offer easy solutions.

A party with no prospect of power can promise anything because they will never be in a position to deliver.

Opinions are fine but looking through the cracked blurring FG/FF stinking crystal ball really counts for Diddly squat!

Sinn Fein will be the opposition that this country so sadly lacked up to now. I say bring it on as soon as possible and make those fuddermucker thieving robbing liars namely FG/FF accountable for their disgraceful behaviour in the Dail. What's more important is that Sinn Fein will make huge gains in this election and that is just music to all the downtrodden ears here in low wage world! Let those who CAN pay pay their fair share I say.

Oh I can't wait to hear the sweet voice of Gerry Adams and his 'People First' Party. Bring it on, oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

to be a sf supporter ,NEVER LAD,rather vote ff :D
funny thing doe, when a sf boyo came looking for a vote,i told him never in a million years, slammed door in his face, wasnt too happy :-)

That was me! Now that I have your attention, any chance of a number three vote for SF then?

Vote for FF...............now that is really looney!!!
People who voted for that bunch of thieving liars should hang their heads in shame. And never mind going on and on about the Troubles. This mess which was created by the wnaker bankers and FF along with the consequences of the same can be directly linked to more misery and death than any freedom struggle ever seen on this Island. What a cheek!

Well that was a great performance by Gerry. Put the rest of them to shame.

The country has choices to make!

Vote Sinn Fein and sort out the thieving FG/FF dummies for one and for all!

    :D

    Moving on up....:)

Gerry Adams was the clear winner in the TV debate tonight.

Despite the best attempts by Martin ridicule SF proposals on Banking, ...etc.

Well done, there are 2 SF votes in this house.

I will sound biased here but Gerry gave a very good account of himself. No outright winner in my eyes no matter how the media try to paint it.

I welcome radical change and I believe Sinn Fein are the only credible party to implement it.

Would that be the same Sinn Fein who voted in favour of the bank bailout? Have a serious look at their record in the 30th Dail and tell me if you think they provided an effective opposition. They dozed in their seats until the Donegal by election 4 months ago.

yep. ill be voting sf. gerry adams done alright tonight. i switched over to rte2 afterwards where they discussed the debate. they reckon gerry adams came out worst. they said ff done brilliant in the debate and showed a clip of matin attacking adams, but twice left out adams responce. its unbelievable how biased they are and will do everything they can to put sf down...even praise ff who just ruined the country. the west brit southern media are a bunch of cowards.

I must agree that it was unfair to run the clip of the attack without the retort. Much of the media are clearly biased and are an untouchable elite unto themselves. Clearly higher taxes are not in their interests.

I'd wager a lot of swing voters watching Martin's quip to Adams tonight will drift from FF to SF.

i'm entirely neutral on this, i dont think it will be 12 sharkie66, but only gaining two, considering surely ferris adams doherty o conghaile are a shoo-in anyway would you not say kelticknight?

the likes of sf and others will get votes over all because people are angry and not because of there policy's or lack of,people will do this too shakeup other partys and no other reason,THE likes of sf wont help this country as they are 40 years behind the times.when you listen too them debate, you just have too laugh, they really dont have a clue, maybe 10 years time or more, they might get better ,but now,not a chance,

Lol, can't believe people thought Adams was good on that "debate"!! Showed himself and SF up for what they are, no substance, and living in fantasy land. No cuts? Aye right Gerry, course not.

Those who thought he was good last night were already Shinners, I think SF will have lost votes rather than gained any after that when people scratch the surface and see that there's nothing there.

Kenny was at least honest when he said that everyone will be affected by cuts. I think people will see that everyone taking their share is the only way forward out of this mess. Adams and his mob not only want to retain 2010 welfare levels, they want to increase welfare and bring back the welfare Xmas bonus!!!! In a f**king recession!!! You couldn't make it up! :D Thankfully SF will never be behind the reigns of power in this country.

After last night's debate I'm tempted more than ever to vote SF. Adams was the only leader who wasn't defeatist and expressed a confidence in Irish People...

poor you , when will you realize that all politicians are liars , now mr kenny did not mean EVERYONE , he meant EVERYONE who is not part of the elite that both fine gael and fianna fail pander too and protect , anyway am sure after the 2012 budget when your paypacket if your old enough to have one is down another 10% you will be very happy that mr kenny and his ilk are sharing your ''pain''
sinn fein may indeed have basket case economics so do fine gael and their 5,billion hole , do dont be expecting any miracle cure for irelands ills

Only ones looking for miracles are SF with their "no cuts" strategy.

What do they intend doing? Robbing a bank? Oh yeah... I forgot... not a bother to them on that score. ;)

Rofl-have you just finally accepted the obvious that SF economics is basket case?
I can't vote for a party that keeps saying "it will be alright pet" unless they tell me how it will be alright...
Wheres the money to run the country coming from?
The wealth tax and 48% rate come up with a couple of billion,we need 19 billion if the cuts are reversed.

Adams answer last night was we save 50 billion by jettisoning the banks-We don't because thats money lent to go into them that won't be lent to run the country.

Theres no 5 billion hole.Labour are just saying that theres 5 billion in savings that FG won't meet.
They can't prove this. It's another soundbite.
Unfortunately for Gilmore, for the purposes of the debate,as a dramatic turn it would have had more effect if he had of left it for the debate rather than use it all week giving Enda plenty time to come up with an answer, not that he needed any time.
His advisors haven't read political debating 1.1

in other words same populist view as normal,no policy's,no solutions, even in debate
