Proof that Gerry ordered it, as far as I can see both claims come from the same source.

indeed, my fellow drog-ledyte. May i indulge for a moment, if i was to be equally disengenuous, couldn't we in an equally 2+2=almost5 way argue that the Queen ordered the murder of, or at least approved the murders of 13 (forgive me if that number is wrong feel free to correct) innocent ordinary people and a priest in derry one sunday morning. For certain, Did she not personally pin medals on the soldiers responsible for the atrocity, who pretended they shot at IRA activists when the whole world could see they opened fire on a peaceful local march, attended by nationalists, loyalists, mothers with buggies, workers, clergy, organised by a derry local councillor? In fact, one could argue that the IRA could have awarded the queen a medal of their own for doubling their ranks in derry overnight

True but the Queen isn't running for a seat in Dail Eireann.

SF's economic policies are non-existant, there not realistic and their simply appealing to a populist vote with their "No to IMF" and "burn the bondholders" stance...if that were to happen their would be a run-on-the banks in no time, and all that money you saved in your piggy bank will be gonzo!!! Just not feasible.

In saying that, SF offer other advantages apart from thier failed economic policies (such as provisions on the Irish lang and general republican values) and can also mobilise a key anti-system vote (i.e SF had a hand in most protests outside the Dail in recent times). So with the tough policies the next govt will inevitable have to undertake, me thinks its better to have them inside the tent pissing out than outside the tent pissing in!!! Here's hoping for a Labour-Green-SF-Socialist-Independants left-wing Aliiance...u can only dream :P

So if one is to believe that J. Mc Conville was a British spy one must also accept that as Brendan Hughes claims, Adams was the person giving orders to the group tasked with disappearing collaborators, informants, IRA members who stole weapons or disobeyed orders etc?

The disappeared include Brian Mc Kinney, John Mc Clory and Danny McIllhone, who were killed in 1978 because they used IRA weapons in a robbery.
Fast forward 30 years to the release from prison of O'Neil, Sheehy, Walshe and Mc Cauley for the same offence, during which a gaurd was killed and a Sinn Fein TD picks them up from prison.
    How standards have slipped.

Can't be as big a laughing stock as when Gerry finds it's not so easy to run a country, when two other countries are no longer bankrolling you.

I think you will find Gerry Adams condemned that attack and no informed person would argue that those killings have anything to do with Gerry Adams or Sinn Fein.

suggest you go back, thoroughly re read and examine the context of my post and also consider that it is a reply to wolfe tone post no 1297 which in turn is a reply to kelticknightt post on 1288. Once you have read the three posts and the previous posts leading up to them, you will spot that the crucial subject matter in my post is not 'queen' !!! its 'disingenuous', ie designed, adroit, crooked, which is what i was being. Lets keep the context of my post exactly what it was, in context. Theres a good fellow.

and no other politican saw it fit to question this daylight robbery?
is it right to be paid more than obama?
and why was kenny set up on the middle podium waving his hand
like the great emperor of rome?

looked like a joke, especially when there was no takers on adams when
he said t.d.s and ministers should have capped salaries

In a room were the negotiations of a proper deal for Ireland is taking place which of the five men would you want thrashing out a deal?

i know who id want. Adams and possibly Gilmore beside him.
Bring the Germans do the brink , then get a deal on our terms.
That aint gonna happen with Kenny walking in all embarrassed looking. The first thing there gonna say is...Mr .Kenny , are you ok? You look like you just fell off your tricycle.

    yeah just one preference

    the rest dont deserve consideration

    thats just my opinion

I think I'd prefer someone who had an iota of an idea of what they're talking about and at least a basic grasp of simple arithmetic. Which pretty much rules out either of them.

I don't think you are being fair to Gilmore here.

As far as Sinn Fein go, they had a chance to move forward as a party in this country. Allowing Gerry Adams to run as a candidate is a big mistake because he is a clear link to the ugly past that most people want nothing to do with.

the irony of it. look at the history of fine gael and their 'arithmetic' leading us into recessions and wearyness in the past , and fianna fails world class arithmetic over the last 10 years in making deals.
that doesnt add up either does it.
fine gaels arithmetic in reducing rates does add up however. they give with one hand and take away with hidden taxes in the other. no difference from fianna fail except just a worse bunch of numpties at the helm.

    gerry, eamon , enter.

the biggest mistake labour made was agreeing to go into power with fine gael. they should have left the blueshirts on their own.

Citation needed plz. I take it you're more of a fan of SF magic maths where they manage to fix the deficeit with no cuts and no tax increases other than for people on 100k and while removing the USC?
