Just ordered last week from ielektroniks, parcel shipped this morning, site was a bit flaky on and off, fingers crossed

I just ordered of that site as well. I must check my order status. Worrying times.

If it puts your mind at ease, they delivered mine a few weeks ago and seemed like a solid supplier. I'd say they just have some website issues.

Can anyone pls point me towards a thread that describes the way to set up the tuners when you just have one cable from the sat dish? I think I have it wrong and am only using one tuner.

    thx

I bought mine from them too and I was very happy with the speed of delivery and that the stb was in perfect working order. I would have no hesitation in buying from them again.

Don't think you can talk to people that fella. I paid nearly 400 quid for this box, within a month it starts to die. Then the website was down last night albeit for a while. The website is at best, ropey ever since. They provide no email address. Only way to contact them is via a web form that keeps erroring out. These are worrying times for me, very worrying.

I wish you well with your stb but as I say, a little common respect would go a long way.

i see at least 2 other ways to contact them.

they have a live chat option to the left of the top of the home page.

they have a telephone number as well.

    Tel: 933 968 036 i assume that's a Spanish number.

Our phone hours are Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 14:00 and afternoons from 16:00 to 19:00.

Surely if a website did not have contact addresses and did not seem legit you would not have bought from them in the first place.

Anyway, good to see latest official image now supports dvb-s2 usb tuner by sundtek.

Ive been trying the online chat all day, not one response. I rang the number once and it rang out. Anyway I don't fancy being on hold or trying to communicate english/spanish at international call rates.

I finally received an email from them, they sent me a very dodgy looking address as in I could not interpret it...
    Company name: Minorelectronics S.L.
Street: C/ Alcalá de Xivert 114,1º-2ª
    City: Benicarlo
    Province: Castellón
    ZIP: 12580
    Spain

    see the street bit ???

Anyway, I then found their shop on Ebay and thankfully they have their address printed properly on it. So the package is on its way back to spain and get this.......

Registered post with a max insurance of €150...cost me €56 quid. The words H, Christ and Jesus spring to mind.

In your post above dnme, you said that you 'finally' got an email back from them. I know that time can go a bit slowly when you're exasperated, but from reading this thread it seems like it only started to go wrong last night?!

In that case, a reply by email within a few hours of their opening time this morning would seem fine.

It's certainly a real pain that you would have to send it back to spain, but I suppose that is the risk that we took to save a few quid on the purchase price. Good luck sorting it out, it's just you seem to be giving the spainards a hard time when it looks like they are responding at a reasonable speed.

giving the spaniards a hard time ? lets look at the facts

    1. the website was down yesterday evening
    2. website is back but very ropey
    3. online chat, no reply all day
    4. no address on site
    5. sent them 4 emails in past 24 hours
    6. finally got 1 reply with unreadable address
    7. Had to research and find their ebay page to get their address
    8. cost 56 quid to post the box back
    9. box failed after just one month
    10. I am told they wont refund postage although I cannot confirm this as they wont reply to my email on that matter
    11. Box back to spain, investigation, box back to Ireland = maybe 2-3 weeks without TV.

Email is a fairly instant medium no? If I email amazon I hear from them within an hour. If I email elara I hear from kin immediately. If I email komplett I hear from them within 2-3 hours.

I dont think I'm giving them such a hard time, but they have 400 quid belonging to me and it would just be reassuring to hear from them, that's all.

    EDIT: oh and almost forgot,
    12. their web form errored out on me about 10 times before it finally decided to work, at least I think it worked, can never be too sure.

Theres absolutely nothing wrong with any part of that address.
The C/ translates as street ie ST.
The address format is perfectly normal for Spain,
But if it was written in an Irish format it would be 114 c/Alcalá de Xivert, Unit 1, 2nd floor.

I know you are feeling frustrated as your issue isn't being dealt with at Amazon/Elara levels of effeciency.
But you need to temper your service expectation against the type of organisation(I.e small!)
But you are dealing with an independent dealer, without a customer service department.
Many people here could say similar things about even Irish based satellite dealers.
As an example I've often waited a few days for replies from satworld.ie and others but still recieved top service!

You posted on thread last night at 10.30 regarding being unable to contact them and 'worrying times' but their website clearly states phone support ends at 19.00...........
Do you expect a small independent retailer to have 24hr email support?

I'm not trying to belittle the issue or make light of it!
I know how rustrating it can be waiting on support for foreign sourced equipment.
But thats a risk you take when you buy from foreign sellers, if it goes wrong you have to bear the cost to return the item and leadtimes are always a nightmare!

But dial down the hyberbole until you know that there is an actual problem with the supplier other than him being a small operator and you having multinational response expectations.

As an aside, I had a very similar issue with my vu duo that was caused by overheating, Rootcaused it to the broadcom LAN controller.
I moved my unit to a better ventilated location and no issue since.
Hope some of the above is helpful to you at least.

Street: C/ Alcalá de Xivert 114,1º-2ª
    City: Benicarlo
    Province: Castellón
    ZIP: 12580

    Minorelectronics, S.L.
    Carlos Sanchez Bielsa
    Alcalá de xivert, 114
12580 Benicarlo - Castellon, Comunidad Valenciana
    España

As for the rest of your fairly stellar posts, I refer you to my previous points

    1. the website was down yesterday evening
    2. website is back but very ropey
    3. online chat, no reply all day
    4. no address on site

If you're gonna trade on the web, good CRM is vital. It takes nothing to communicate properly with someone, I dont care how small your business is.

You're the one who started this argument and tbh I couldn't really understand your position or banie01 choosing to continue it. Are you spanish or affiliated to ielektroniks in some way perhaps?

I am posting info relating to a box failure and how the vendor treats its customers as a way to let others know and make informed decisions.

as for emails? I've never sent you any emails.

The street bit is not pure garbage, It is the Spanish format for street address's.
What I tried to show you above was it in the Irish address format.
Both the address's you posted are for the same location, just because you did not understand the format does not make it wrong.

You are dealing with a completely different culture regarding CRM, you had a Next Business Day answer for your query.
That is stellar performance for a Spanish company!!! Never mind its size!
While I may get the top gear racist card shown for that comment it is the truth.

I agree, it is more suited for a seperate thread

No, you didn't send me any emails, not directly. Just by adding a post to this thread, which probably has tens of subscribers, you indirectly sent an email out to them all. The same for me, when I added my reply.

Which is why I'm loathe to talk about this any more in this thread. Can we let this lie?

ps Obviously I'm not saying that you can or can't post anything. Do what you want.
I've no affiliation with ielectroniks. I have my own opinion of them based on what I've read and my own experience. Similarily, I form my own opinion of posters based on what I read, and in this case I think you are being harsh on the vendor. That's all, we disagree and I've no inclination to debate it with you.

dnme, I can see your position on this issue but what exactly is the condition of your box, if possible can you flash an original image to your box and go from there, these boxes are a little tempremental and sometimes it's best to sit back and take things slowly, eg disconnect hd, usb sticks, network cables etc. and by process of elimination you might get your box working.

As I said earlier I had the same issue with mine and it turned out to be an overheating/ventilation issue with the LAN controller
But it was a quite a while rootcausing it but the lads over on vu-support.co.uk esp Andy sicilian and pooface were great help in id'ing the cause.

Ps, for dnme, no I don't have anything to do ielektronics, and as for being Spanish...not that I see why my nationality matters. No I'm Irish, but I am a Spanish citizen and lived there quite a while.
So with rgds to the address I was just pointing out that it wasn't wrong.

@banie01, re the address. what is this? Can you translate for me ?
    1º-2ª
Stanley1, the lan port failed on the box. I noticed it yesterday after putting in a USB drive at the back, it rubbed off the network cable but it was very nothing unusual. Then I had to do a reinstall for other reasons, I noticed the box glitching when it came to stuff involving networking. Lots of error messages, epg wouldn't download properly, epg text corrupt etc.

Then I noticed it's port on my router was amber. Router does that when a link is 10Mbit limited. So I tried everything you can think of. Resetting to factory, fw upgrades on all devices. Tried other router, other cables, official fw, blah blah blah. Best test of all was a simple file xfer from windows to vuplus. See image, never went above 850KBs (<10Mbit)
