Had 1 pint of Porterhouse Red, 1 bottle of Copper Coast, 1 pint of O Hara's Ale and 2 pints of Castle Red.

Apart from the first one from Porterhouse it was a nice day of sport watching in the Bull & Castle

Now at home drinking a dark German Beer called Bernauer Schwarzbier

Having my first Tyskie as so many people rave about it ... but I'm finding it a bit bland ... crisp and mellow with a bit of sweetness but to be quite honest I'm not a larger/pils person so I don't think I'll be comming back unless it is a choice between only that and Heineken ;)

It used to say "Belgian White" on the label until the breweries of Belgium sued Coors.

Ah - Wells' banana bread beer is fantastic. Always seems to be quite expensive though.

Broke out of my 'dry month' last night (decided 28 days was sufficient and we had friends around for dinner).
    So had:

    Augistiner Maximator
    Brianblasta
Pierre Celis Signature selection Grottenbier Bruin

then after everyone left I had an Orval all to myself.

    It's good to be back!:D

The Grottenbier was the stand out beer for me there (well Orval always stands out for me). It really flavoursome but kind of light at the same time.

Tried some Coniston Bluebird the other night - loved it. Only came across it by chance after the bar ran out of Landlord and the barman suggested I try it. A lovely English bitter, nicely floral without being too hoppy.

Got a bottle of Whitstable Bay Ale(Shepherd's Neame) waitig in the fridge, just noticed it's got pretty bad reviews though.

Had my first pint in Messrs Maguires too last night. I'll definitely be back for more. :D

Edit: And is there anything worse than walking into a pub like Messrs with decent, craft beers on sale and seeing people drinking Carlsberg. :|

    Shameful indeed.

Messrs you can understand because until recently, they were not too bothered about promoting their own beers.

Somewhere like Franciscan Well in Cork though, which is a brewery pub that usually only sells its own beers on tap is inexcusable. I have been in there and people come in and order a bottle of Bulmers

Horses for courses. I rather liked it. I love Ales and Bitters and considering I have a bias towards Shepherd's Neame(as I sell it) I would still think its one of the better Ales that can be bought in most outlets.

Going to have myself a bottle of Erdinger Urweisse tonight.

I only briefly tried it at an ambient temperature recently but I'm looking forward to tucking into a nice chilled one later.

Franciscan Well's Purgatory in The Abbot's this week!!:D

Drinking a bottle of Well's Bombardier. Very nice. A copper-coloured good old fashioned English ale. Better than I thought it would be.

Edit: Actually this is beautiful. A pleasant surprise. I thought it was similar to Bishops Finger but it's a bit fruitier and tastier. I'll be keeping an eye out for it in the future.

I just picked up a 75cl Chimay Bleu for tomorrow. :D

Also, I bought Innis & Gunn Rum Cask, IPA and Triple Matured.
The Rum Cask was delicious, but I'll have to wait a little while before giving my verdict on the others.

Newmans Red Castle Cream: lovely strong malt taste finished off A nice hint of hops. Not creamy at all so strange it is in the name.

Had two lovely Delerium Tremens last night. Only realised afterwards that they were over a year past the best before date. Made no difference, though.

Had a Dark Star (think this was the brewer?) HopHead today, on cask. Really good beer. Light but really hoppy, very drinkable.

Had a Kernel Pale Ale after that. Was slightly disappointed as I was promised hops but didn't get very many :(

I've just started drinking Miller and Becks, tasty and cheaper than cider! :)

Not at the same time mind you! ;)

It's a bottle conditioned beer which means there is still live yeast in the bottle. Many live beers age and more often than not will get better with time.

The best before date has to be there by law but you could probably keep it for a few decades and drink it. The beer would be very different though.

BrewDog Rich bitch : it's a stout but with a difference.
Very much a chocolate taste then a sweet caramel taste then the last final hit is strong alcohol taste. Had a half pint buy was shared so picky as it seemed very strong.
Glad I tasted it but not to become a regular drink.

Acorn Old Moor Porter : a very strong nutty taste immediately followed by a hint of sweetness maybe chocolate.

A lovely porter with no carbonation at all.

Flying Dog Raging Bitch Belgian Style IPA! Tasty but it's the large "champagne" is taking a bit of getting through! Great sipping beer though!

Following it up with a Hop Ottin IPA, not overwhelmed to be honest. Bit too "resiny" maybe, can't thinknof the right word really.
