I noticed the sunset as well actually, was driving through the mountains at the time and it looked great.

0.8C, -0.4C dp now, infrequent showers of hail and sleet all day. Chance of snow tonight seems reasonable

    Beautiful blue skies and sunshine.

Very still with only the hint of an occassional puff of a breeze.

Warm in the sunshine, cool in the shade.

Roads lethal. Even the main roads.

Shame on Limerick County Council for not salting the main roads. Plenty of moisture on the roads for salt to have been effective and helpful in preventing the appauling road conditions that lead to numerous road traffic accidents in Limerick county on the main roads!

Shame on you Limerick County Council, shame on you.:mad::mad:

Blueing very heavily here at the moment in south Meath with very large beams, there's floods of clear here now, it looks like it will keep up for quite some time, probably until nightfall. ALERT for nightfall, it will start probably some time around 4 - 5pm and will be widespread and persistant until tomorrow morning. This will also affect lower levels, with significant accumulations of black darkness and some black ice.

No sign of any snow yet, maybe not for a while.

Sounds like I need to issue a no-weather alert. The public are advised that they might go outside and find no weather. Do not panic. Weather will return eventually.

Enjoy the nearly full moon which should be rising now in the northeast. It will be totally full at 9:22 p.m. tomorrow but should look that way tonight as well. Also easy to find is Jupiter fairly high in the south to southwest at this stage of the evening and setting in the southwest later on.

Nice moon here for the past hour reflecting on the sea (on the west Donegal coast at the moment), great sunset again tonight as well.

Much like everywhere else, sunshine all day which naturally I cant complain about. A week of this will do nicely after the past few weeks of dull greyness

    Ground rock solid.

    Full moon.

    No wind.

    Lovely weather.

Well we had a min of -7.4c this morning, far from boring imho!

A lot of the frost stayed on the ground all day, 5 years ago that would have been marveled at, now its considered a snooze fest!

Currently -3.7c up slightly from -4.1c an hour ago, fog is coming and going.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 3,548 ✭✭✭Harps

Yeah I was watching the NI weather a while ago and they had -8C on the map, I remember being amazed this time last year when I heard it could get down to -8C, tonight I didnt even give it a second thought. If only there was a bit of snow in Dublin right now we'd be in a severe cold spell again!

-3.2C here, really bright and clear, absolutely no wind

Calm, dry and clear in south Meath. And very cold. Water dripping from the frost melting off the roof in the sunshine is freezing on contact with the ground, creating an ever expanding ice sheet around the building.
