They are not brothers - where did you get that from. I agree with you about Ed Byrne. He is appalling.

:D Tom and Penolope aren't siblings either.. FYI ;)

Never got Des Bishop whose observations of Irish society are simply untrue and unfunny.

I have to take that back. I have never seen Des Bishop live to make a fair judgement. I just watched his DVD ' In The Name Of The Fada' during the week I have to say that I was quite surprised by how good and enjoyable it was. Des Bishops stand up routines during it were very good indeed and contradict completely my above quote. He came across as engaging, funny and charming.

I still think Ed Byrne and Dara O Brian are **** though.

    BEST!!!

jimmy carr - his laugh is just MANIC!
frankie boyle - randomness and ability to remain poker faced (NOT IRISH I KNOW)
andrew maxwell - couldnt breath from the laughing at his last show
pj gallagher- the dirty aul one 'legendary'
    neil delemare - random!

    ALRIGHT

Dara o Brian - saw him in vicar st in feb, wasnt overly impressed! felt he was winging it a lot and just talking to the audience

des bishop - used to be brilliant, his real life programes are just not good!

    WORST

Tommy Tiernan - tasteless and i find him very offensive most of the time! he's just not funny :(

ed byrne - just go to the library

KATHERINE LYNCH REALLY GRATES ON MY NERVES!!

cant think of anyone else. no good female comedians

Best: Jimmy Carr (if he counts), Dylan Moran, Dermot Morgan. I can't think of any others I like.

Worst: Dave McSavage, Ed Byrne, Dara O'Briain, Karl Spain, loads more. Overall, I think there's more worse than better.

Ha. I was there last night too. Really enjoyed it.

You don't play video games, do you? Otherwise you'd have been in absolute stitches.

    BEST!!!
frankie boyle - randomness and ability to remain poker faced (NOT IRISH I KNOW)

He is Irish. Both his parent are from Donegal and he writes extensively about it in his autobiography

    Good
Jason Byrne - I just think his shouting and excitement is very much my kind of humor, just my opinion, I clutch my sides every time I see him perform, hilarious.

Andrew Maxwell - I don't think I can say anything that hasn't already been said before, the guy is just really funny.

David O' Doherty - Just for his hilarious songs alone, especially Orange "Orrrrrrange (like an orange!)" hahaha

    Bad
Dara O' Brien - Seriously, why do people think this guy is remotely funny? He's terrible at delivering punch-lines, it seems like he's rushing half the time

Tommy Tiernan - Pretty much what everyone else has been saying. Although I did like his story about the guy running in the marathon. It's the only one worth even YouTube'ing...

That's all I can think of really, I don't really follow Irish comedians :/

That's all I can really think of...not much

Saw her on telly earlier and, honestly, she makes me want to rip my eyeballs out of the sockets so I dont have to look at her. But then I decided against doing that, and just changed the channel:D

Love David O'Doherty. <3 He's the absolute spit of one of my exes, but with longer hair, so it's all very weird. :)

I also like Des Bishop, Andrew Maxwell, Neil Delamere.

I've also seen Pat Shortt in Vicar Street. For some people, Killinascully is some daft over-the-top show about a load of culchies; to me, it is an old home video. :D

Worst comedy gig I've been to was Boothby Graffoe (ok, i know he is English) in Kilkenny, poor guy just died on his arse, but his routine just wasn't that funny. I can't think of any Irish comedian that I absolutely can't stand. I guess if someone just isn't funny or never will be, they don't last too long on the circuit.

As he has dual nationality, that's debatable.

Yeah DOD's great. I also find Fred Cooke very funny, with his musical interludes etc. Hoping to see him on the 29th of this month in Abbey Tavern comedy night in Howth.
