Honestly though, Nathan going would ruin it, he makes the show, misfits without him would be like if seasons 3 and 4 of skins didn't have Cook. And that's not a knock against the other characters, but the show needs him really.

I agree it would be a serious blow and it's hard to imagine the show without him but I wouldn't write it off straight away if he left. I think the show would take a serious knock if any of the characters left (except maybe Curtis 'cause he's really underused) but popular main characters have left shows before and it's still worked out. I guess we'll just have to wait and see...

Also, off topic but season 3 was good enough to survive without Cook, I think that was just a brilliant season. Season 4, it didn't matter if he was there or not, that season was just **** in so many ways.

Sorry for anyone who doesn't watch/care about Skins. My next post will be more on topic.

it would be a killer blow, i wouldnt write it off but it certainly wouldn't be the same by any means, he's most people's favourite, his character is brilliant and he provides the majority of the comedy value, it would seriously hurt and id like to hope they're doing everything in their power to bring him back

season 3 was brilliant yes, but he was brilliant throughout in it and was key to why it was so good, season 4 was crap, if it werent for him it would have been epically bad.. anyways, enough talking about that, this is a misfits thread

If Criminal Minds survived Mandy Patinkin leaving then I can believe Misfits can survive without Robert. If you don't watch Criminal Minds you'll have no idea what I mean....

Anyway Robert leaving is only a rumour, it could be completely unfounded for all we know. There's no point worrying about something which might not even happen.

OT: IMO, Criminal Minds got better after Patinkin left.

On Topic: Could Misfits survive without Nathan? Course it could. He's not the reason I started watching it. I watch it because its good overall, not just down to one character.

Thought it was cool when Simon got all pissed off, and up went the hood, and you could see the start of Superhoodie coming through. Then he went and got stabbed.

As for how could Alisha touch him? I had thought that it was because of the next episode where the she trades in her powers, but that wouldn't make sense, unless the power Jesus character guys power gets transferred to Simon after he's defeated, which leaves him immune to powers.

The Mulligan do over screamed out to me about the film clip with Alisha as well, Superhoodies time travelling was ensuring things went one way, but Curtis' changes that future, so now that time line doesn't exist. If that doesn't exist, then what will the future Superhoodie use to help convince Alisha who he is, then will they get together, and...ah crap.

Stupid time travelling stories, hurt my head.

If Alisha sells her power - anyone would be able to touch her... (If that's what's going on in the next episode!).

On that note, has Alisha's power ever been of use to her? All of them seem to have powers that are in some way useful. Apart from the first day of the power where she acted like an awful wh***, the power seems to be the only negative one of the bunch!

But Superhoodie was able to touch her BEFORE that.

I don't know, seems like a ****ty power, TBH. I mean, I likes me secks and all, but that'd get a bit tiresome.

Didnt think it made him look like a superhero. Actually thought it was more of a darth vader / anakin skywalker moment

Ah - didn't think that one through! Maybe Simon bought the power to resist her power!

    Good spot.

True it didn't make him look like a superhero. But it did have more than a passing resemblance to Superhoodie.

I nearly freaked out in the episode with what happened to everyone but I figured as Curtis was lactose intolerant he would sort it out!

So pissed when that after time went back the Simon and Alecia thing didn't work out!

    Christmas special tomorrow :D

You're right, that's a bit strange. I wonder if originally he was supposed to turn into a wolf?

Seemingly the Milk-guy isn't on their IMDB page, so I'm guessing he hasn't really been in anything before.
There was much speculation on the meaning of Nathans shadow in series 1 and some did guess his power was immortality. I'd say it was an in-joke along the crying wolf lines

The Milky BaD Kid is Jordan Metcalfe - yet another seasoned actor of 24, has been in lots though nothing I'd likely have ever seen.
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jordan_Metcalfe
    http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1508111/

Reminds me of John Simm for some reason though the character had Magneto written all over it.

Good photos from series one here
Loads of stuff on the E4 site - check out the wall

As for Robert, his star is certainly rising, 3 films next year, perhaps that is where the speculation arose about him on series3.
He has done loads, I missed Love/Hate but heres a trailer for Killing Bono
" others not mentioned in the offing are
‘Romeo and Gertrude’, directed by comedian David Baddiel
‘Wayfaring Strangers’, a WW2 drama with Michael Gambon and Cillian Murphy

Heres a selection tumblr blog of clips from someone with an appreciation for the cut (includes a clip of a young Rob from a disney tv show) and RS on yt 1, 2

Damn  - found it - uncorroborated but allegedly "Jason Maza, Robert's costar in the film Suicide Kids, revealed via Twitter that Robert will not be a part of Misfit's third series" then alleged tweet deleted.

Could be a complete fabrication but seems to have spread like wildfire.
Pretty much shows that he is the stand out one of the show.
Perhaps he is just too busy and expensive - but I will believe it when I dont see him.

This cheered me up:D Misfits cast interview and more and more (76 ROFL LMRO)
    RS "a lege"

Just caught Thursdays episode on 4OD and I thought it was great, yes it was predictable but it was really enjoyable, this season has been brilliant apart from the gorilla episode imo which was pretty poor, hopefully there will be another series though and can't wait for the episode tonight.

I just spotted that my sky+ series link didn't automatically set this to record after Thursday's episode (just in case anyone is out tonight and hoping to watch when they get back in).

Never realised the milk guy was the genie in Genie in the House. Explains where I recognised him from. God that show was awful.....

Oh my God, that's why I recognise him!

And agreed, Genie in the House was one of the worst programmes ever made.

Confused , didn't Curtis do a rewind to before Alisha told Simon about his future self?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,869 ✭✭✭Futurecrook

    I thought that too.

He did but as it's 3 months later it probably came out some other way and he found out anyway.

    That afterbirth scene was amazing.

    Fantastic episode so far.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,869 ✭✭✭Futurecrook

That was a really clever twist. Leaves the plot open to going anywhere now. Can't wait to find out what powers they all have now.

I was almost in tears with laughter because of it.

So what powers will people get? And will they have more than one?

Plus looks like Nikki isn't coming back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 537 ✭✭✭angelll

    Oh that was brilliant :D

Can't wait to find out what happens next,do we suppose simon can rewind time/time travel now or what. Wonder what alisha can do,maybe she will teleport, presume curtis's girlfriend (can't think of her name) is still dead?

    Oh right,nikki..

    Nooooooooooo! Bloody cliffhangers.

Great episode but too many threads left hanging for my liking...

I wasn't actually expecting this episode to be part of the series but it worked well in setting up S3 I suppose!

The afterbirth scene was probably one of the funniest things I've seen this year.

Cracking end to a pretty damn great season.

Probably no season 3 til next November! :(

So the next series will be in German ........:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,869 ✭✭✭Futurecrook

Well I'm expecting Simon to have some sort of time travel power. Other than that I don't know what to expect. There's a hell of a lot of money in that locker so I reckon they'll each get a few new powers to make them proper 'superheroes'.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators Posts: 18,084 Mod ✭✭✭✭ixoy

    Best birthing scene ever :D

Very funny and the ending was nicely done and leaves them a lot of creative room for next year. I wonder if they'll go as far as to give them powers from the pool of powers the guy already has? Or if they'll get more than one power each? Also why didn't the priest buy immortality (just not enough money perhaps?)

Only odd thing was how Nathan became a doting father. Seemed very out of character! Or was there a super power at play there that I missed?

Wow didn't see that coming. Love the idea of them having other powers. The whole reason Curtis wanted his power back was to save Nikki but I have a feeling that's not going to happen now. =P

I'm a Nathan/Kelly shipper but I do actually really like Marnie. Wonder if she'll last or if she's just there to give Robert a reason to leave. I know I said we should stop talking about it till it's confirmed but when I realised he was gonna be there for the baby that was the first thing that came to mind...well that or they'd kill him since he'd given up his immortality.

I'm guessing Alisha told Simon about his future during the three months but I still would have liked to know how. Seemed a bit of a cop out to me. Although so much was going on in that episode I suppose it was easier than trying to fit it in, especially since we've already seen it play out once.

Lastly, I actually quite liked Nathan's jumper.
