So after the next episode, season 2 will be over? Any word on Season 3?

    Any word on Season 3?
Howard Overman has "pretty much" confirmed it got a third season. Not officially though!

    See here!

I thought it was a very strong episode. I liked the rewind at the end - it forced Curtis to command his power when he wanted to. But I understand why people say it is lazy writing...

    Loved this exchange;
Daisy: "I am not going to rub your cock!"
    Nathan: "Wheres your humanity?"

so if curtis re winded time surely the girl with the incredible healing power is still alive and the world in which the misfits live in will be sick free

    Not necessarily!

Since they rewinded time, "Lactose Boy" (or whatever he was called) wouldn't have come forth and publicized the abilities. So I think we can take it that anyone who became famous due to their publicized powers will now not be in the limelight (unless they came forward themselves).

.. I've made that sound far more complex than it is!

So does this mean the Probabtion worker might still be around? I love that guy.

The Deus Ex was pretty annoying but it was always goin to happen, I just accepted it like I do with Doctor Who.

I loved Simon clarifying that the time travel was "Terminator Rules" :pac:

Only Misfits could make a proper villain out of a loser who can control milk.

Killing people in the theme of an M&S advert, random and hilarious.

"that is the yogurt you ate this morning, blocking up your artery"
with the m&s music on in the background, genius.

Well the fact he would have developed into a psychopathic killer, i'm sure they killed him.

Pretty damn sure from the Q&A yesterday- we have to wait till season 3 to find out how Simon travels back in time. Sounds like he is still writing it.
There was a question thrown at him about Robert leaving which he didnt fully deny, just said he is still working out what happens.
Apparently Robert is much the same in real life so I am sure that works well with the producers:rolleyes: ***
it forced Curtis to command his power when he wanted
As he said, it doesnt work that way. Seems to be an emotional response to death or dire straits of those he cares about - which probably explains why he didnt rewind for Nathans death (ironic his real name is same as Roberts character)
    While he is the

Love the writiing, I know there is predictable (but forgiveable) signposted stuff, but a few good curveballs and clever ideas with a brilliant cast and excellent lines.

Thought the Milky Bad Kid was a brilliant supervillian, (Magneto anyone?)
the "sh!test superpower" with the highest bodycount, and real cunning (he didnt kill Nathan).

"Roll it there Roisin" to quote Robert. He isnt old enough to remember Colette. :D

    Jesus, I'd hope not.

Robert singlehandedly carries the show.. don't get me wrong, the show is superb.. but no-one can deny Nathan really is the best thing about it.

I'll deny that! Iwan Rheon is great!

I don't think Robert is the single best thing but his character is by and large the most popular so if he is leaving the show it will take a massive hit. That said it could still work. It's got stellar writing (well compared to a lot of tv programmes atm) and the other three actors are just as good as Robert IMO (maybe better since he is pretty much playing himself apparently).

I guess we'll just have to wait and see really.

I just realised a bit of a plothole. They are going to have to be found out again in the future, otherwise what Alisha saw on the video isn't right any more. What she saw was herself being interviewed about the ASBO5, but if Curtis went back in time and prevented them from being discovered, then that video shouldn't exist, if we are going by the time loop rule. So for it to be right, they would have to be revealed again at some point in the future.

I think it was a plothole personally but that's just because I've gotten the impression the writer only seems to plan a little ahead at a time. I could be wrong though.

Then again Superhoodie can time travel maybe he can also somehow visit alternate timelines. I highly doubt it but you never know.

    I just realised a bit of a plothole. .
If a plothole is rotating clockwise, anything that falls through it from from a future time event discontinuum will not cease to exist in the next episode.

Corollary - given sufficient episodes the author will write an explanation to address said anomalous event as pointed out by smart aras forumists thus inviting them to eat their words and give a collective "Aaaah, brilliant"

I thought it was just a case of when simon comes back in time, anything he brings with him will be from the future he left, so it'll be from the future that he's going to change. Him changing the present won't erase the video, or change the video. Especially since it's following Terminator rules, and not Back to the Future rules.

I loved Nathan's line about the lactosde intolerance which was basically second-guessing everyone watching and thinking "they just completely made that up on the spot as a handy plot device with a totally obviosu outcome".

Strong finish to a strong series, even if they did have to revert to a "mulligan" at the end (it's not the first time that's happened to be fair) and it was blindingly obvious that it was coming.

Whilst watching this with some friends the other night we were trying to work out the circumstances about how future Simon travels back, why Alisha's power doesn't effect him and most importantly why he didn't use his invisibility power in his role as super hoodie.

We half reckoned the girl with the cure, if she touched any of them, would "cure" them of their power (we were convinced this had happened to Nathan before he shot himself, and that for that reason alone Curtis would have to rewind)...and were just drawing out how that might play out, if Simon were somehow left behind if Curtis rewound everything, leading him to be stuck in an alternate future....in the end that didn't play out (yet?) and it was just a do-over.

That's half of what I love about this show...it keeps you thinking and guessing...even though there are some plot holes and some inconsistencies; how come Nathan is immortal yet a lowly STD can take him down, how can you recover from a major hole in the head but not from cheese wrapped around your cerebral cortex? But I'm willing to overlook that since in the grand scheme it doesn't matter.

BTW where do I know "mIlky bar kid" from...convinced he was in some other show ages ago. LOL at when the 5 turned up on his doorstep :D

Just because Nathan is immortal doesn't necessarily mean that he is immune from diseases. He can get them, but they won't kill him. Watch the movie Man from Earth - it's extremely interesting and may answer a few questions like this.

I noticed something a few weeks back and didn't really think much of it at the time, but, in the opening credits, the shadows of the 5 of them demonstrate their powers (Simon's shadow disappears, Curtis' starts running backwards etc.). But Nathan's shadow turns into a dog or a wolf, I still can't figure it out.

Trying to find that now on YouTube to check, but I just noticed that all the episodes are available on there. You're right, that's a bit strange. I wonder if originally he was supposed to turn into a wolf?

Seemingly the Milk-guy isn't on their IMDB page, so I'm guessing he hasn't really been in anything before.

Maybe something to do with his step-father who turns into a dog

I was thinking that first, but since the rest are directly related to their shadows, maybe his power is just a side effect of whatever his shadow is. Maybe he has more powers, or maybe he's not infinitely able to respawn.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,159 ✭✭✭✭phasers

We didn't know his power until the end of the first series, if the opening titles gave it away there would have been no surprise. Plus, it's not really easy to demonstrate.

The wolfy thing is definitely his step Dad.

Honestly though, Nathan going would ruin it, he makes the show, misfits without him would be like if seasons 3 and 4 of skins didn't have Cook. And that's not a knock against the other characters, but the show needs him really.

Comparing Misfits to Skins: The New Class should be illegal.

the new class, probably, but the first two casts were brilliant, even if the 4th season was shaky
